Central to the development of Earth system models (ESMs) has been the coupling of previously separate model types, such as ocean, atmospheric, and vegetation models, to address interactive feedbacks between the system components. A modelling framework which combines a detailed representation of these components, including vegetation and other land surface processes, enables the study of land–atmosphere feedbacks under global climate change. The central thesis sustained in this article focuses on the idea that any complete educational exposition needs a philosophical an anthropological dimension. This article presents three philosophical conceptions which sustain and give coverage to the disciplines that are taught in some Spanish universities: Oviedo, Granada and Valencia. Although these positions are quite different they share a common starting point: the defence of a philosophical conception as the basis of the Theory of the Education.

Resumen El origen de esta tesis doctoral se basa en la tesis de fin de Máster en Lenguas y Literaturas que realicé en la Universitat de València durante el curso 2011-2012. Dicha tesis se centraba en el legado poético escrito en inglés en España por los brigadistas miembros de la XV Brigada Internacional durante la Guerra Civil Española.
