Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa liikunnanopettajien näkemyksiä liikunnan oppilasarvioinnista vuonna 2014 valmistuneen perusopetuksen valtakunnallisen opetussuunnitelman mukaan. Tutkimuksessa selvitetään myös, onko iällä tai sukupuolella yhteyttä opettajien näkemyksiin. Tutkimuksen kohteena olivat mm. opettajien perehtyminen ja suhtautuminen vuoden 2014 opetussuunnitelman mukaiseen arviointiohjeistukseen, opetussuunnitelman vaikutus käytännön arviointityöhön sekä opettajien näkemykset vuoden 2014 opetussuunnitelman mahdollisuuksista ja haasteista arviointityössä. This paper reports on a teaching experiment in which social work students (n=38) practiced problem solving through argumentative tasks. A teaching experiment was carried out at a Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences in Finland in connection with a course concerning preventative work against alcohol- and drug abuse. This quasiexperimental study investigated whether role-play simulation conducted either online (15 students) or face-to-face (14 students) improved students’ problem solving on social issues. The present paper reports on a qualitative study investigating how Iranian learners of English as a foreign language understand culture and the extent to which this understanding meets the needs of efficient intercultural communication. In order to gather data, in-depth semistructured interviews were conducted with eight participants. The interviews were designed and thematically analyzed using Baker’s (2011) model of intercultural awareness. The article introduces four case studies from Wales, France and Finland and explores the situated, intergenerational and dynamic nature of collective participation in child welfare settings.
