Background Because ixodid ticks are vectors of zoonotic pathogens, including Borrelia, information of their abundance, seasonal variation in questing behaviour and pathogen prevalence is important for human health. This paper deals with the archaeometric study and analysis of lime based plasters recently found in the archaeological settlement of Scauri, located in the homonymous bay at the island of Pantelleria (central Mediterranean, Strait of Sicily). The Bay of Scauri is sited in the south-west part of the island. It can be considered a natural harbour overlooking the coast of Cape Bon in Tunisia. Since the 1999, the archaeological importance of place was reconsidered thanks to the recovering of huge remains of a Late Roman settlement dating back to the 4th-5th century AD. High mental illness prevalence in California state prisons has drawn much attention of scholars and policymakers in the past three decades. Various studies suggest that the mental illness prevalence in prison has increased from 0.14 to 0.3 from 1987 to 2014. The problem with a high concentration of mentally ill prisoners culminated when the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) was sued for the violation of inmates’ rights under the Eighth Amendment in the early 1990s. The SO2F2 quasi-spherical top: Correspondence between tensorial and Watson's formalisms

Abstract The SO2F2 quasi-spherical top molecule with C2v symmetry is considered as a distorted spherical top deriving from the SO 4 2 − tetrahedral ion. We present here a detailed correspondence between the tensorial formalism using the Td⊃C2v reorientation and the usual Hamiltonian of Watson. We have also performed ab initio calculations in order to determine the centrifugal distorsion constants in the vibrational ground state.

Skolen som reformasjonsprosjekt i Norge på 1500–tallet

Artikkelen undersøker latinskolens utvikling i Norge de første 70 årene etter innføringen av reformasjonen. Brudd og kontinuitet med middelalderskolen drøftes. Skiftet av styringsstruktur fra kirken til kongen og embetsverket fremheves som det største bruddet. Til tross for at latinskolen var den viktigste presteutdanningsinstitusjonen på 1500–tallet, ble den ikke en ren kirkeskole. Jeg argumenterer mot oppfatninger om at skolen forandret seg lite, og at reformasjonen virket negativt inn på den. Tvert om viser jeg at latinskolene ble utbygd og fikk stor betydning for implementeringen av selve trosskiftet. Jeg argumenterer også for at skolene i Norge kunne være tjent med sentralstyringen.

Estudio de las oligarquías y del gobierno municipal de tres villas costeras asturianas –Llanes, Villaviciosa y Luarca– durante la etapa final del Antiguo Régimen, tanto desde la óptica de la historia institucional como la historia social del poder. Se analiza tanto el origen de sus oligarquías –vinculado a la compra de cargos municipales y de extracción básicamente nobiliaria– como las analogías y las diferencias en las formas de gobierno de los tres concejos de los que las villas citadas eran su capital.
