Designing a graphics processing unit accelerated petaflop capable lattice Boltzmann solver: Read aligned data layouts and asynchronous communication

The lattice Boltzmann method is a well-established numerical approach for complex fluid flow simulations. Recently, general-purpose graphics processing units (GPUs) have become available as high-performance computing resources at large scale. We report on designing and implementing a lattice Boltzmann solver for multi-GPU systems that achieves 1.79 PFLOPS performance on 16,384 GPUs. To achieve this performance, we introduce a GPU compatible version of the so-called bundle data layout and eliminate the halo sites in order to improve data access alignment. Measurement of dielectron production in central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

The first measurement of dielectron (e + e −) production in central (0 – 10 %) Pb – Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76TeV at the LHC is presented. The dielectron invariant-mass spectrum is compared to the expected contributions from hadron decays in the invariant-mass range 0 < mee < 3.5 GeV / c2. Il saggio, a partire dal progetto della torre Eurosky dello Studio Purini/Thermes, individua le relazioni urbane e indaga le qualità tipo-morfologiche dell'edificio realizzato come elemento di forte identità in un più ampio contesto che – messo a punto in un masterplan – definisce l’intera area di progetto dell’Europarco Castellaccio di Roma. Il progetto è una struttura metodologicamente fondata su scelte e considerazioni di carattere relazionale, geometrico e funzionale, che evidenziano punti di forza, di debolezza e di tolleranza capaci di modificare, anche nell’ambito coerente di riferimento di un possibile scenario di riconversione, l’intera area a ridosso dell’EUR.

Konkreettinen osallistumiseen kasvattamisen keino on tekstin yhteinen tuottaminen kasvokkaisessa vuorovaikutuksessa, mitä tässä tapaustutkimuksessa tarkastelemme kahdessa ryhmässä: 1) uusiin työkäytänteisiin keskittyvässä henkilöstökoulutuksessa ja 2) työelämään valmentavassa mielenterveyskuntoutuksessa. Background: The secular decline in labor market participation and the concurrent increase in opioid use in many developed countries have sparked a policy debate on the possible connection between these two trends. We examined whether the use of prescription opioids was connected to labor market outcomes relating to participation, employment and unemployment among the Finnish population.
