La sospensione del processo esecutivo
2012
Measuring the Task Induced Oscillatory Brain Activity Using Tensor Decomposition
2019
The characterization of dynamic electrophysiological brain activity, which form and dissolve in order to support ongoing cognitive function, is one of the most important goals in neuroscience. Here, we introduce a method with tensor decomposition for measuring the task-induced oscillations in the human brain using electroencephalography (EEG). The time frequency representation of source-reconstructed singletrail EEG data constructed a third-order tensor with three factors of time ∗ trails, frequency and source points. We then used a non-negative Canonical Polyadic decomposition (NCPD) to identify the temporal, spectral and spatial changes in electrophysiological brain activity. We validate …
Preliminary Investigation of Biogenic Amines in Type I Sourdoughs Produced at Home and Bakery Level
2022
During a survey for isolating sourdough lactic acid bacteria (LAB), 20 dough samples produced at the bakery level (BL) or home-made (HM) were collected. An enzyme-based colorimetric method revealed a total biogenic amines (BAs) concentration in the range 41.4–251.8 ppm for six (three BL and three HM) sourdoughs characterised by unpleasant odours. Eight BAs generally investigated in foods were identified and quantified from these six samples by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC–MS/MS). Only one HM sample contained almost all analysed BAs. Tryptamine was exclusively detected in HM sourdoughs (0.71–24.1 ppm). Putrescine, tryptamine, …
Gaming for health across various areas of life
2019
Lack of physical activity is mostly addressed by implementing programs to promote physical activity but seeing as the major cause for physical inactivity is that of technology. Few studies used the approach to use the very barrier as s mean to try and educate and breed good habits. This paper outlines the design and development of a project that will us various environments, home, gym and outdoors to promote physical activity by means of technology and more specifically games. peerReviewed
Hétérogénéité spatiale : principes et méthodes
2004
Spatial Heterogeneity : Principles and Methods This article has a dual purpose . First , it describes the main econometric specifications which can be used to represent spatial heterogeneity , reflected in an instability of parameters in space and / or a heteroscedasticity of error terms . Only the specifications valid in cross-section are examined . Second , it explains the links between spatial heterogeneity and autocorrelation , the other major feature of localised data , defined by the absence of independence between geographical observations . In particular , we look at the extent to which traditional tests of heteroscedasticity or instability need to be amended to take account of spat…
La inscripción de la ciudadanía en la cuba neocolonial (1902-1919) : Sucinta referencia histórico-jurídica
2021
This historical-legal account brieflycovering 17 years of civil registration activity carried out during the neocolonial period by Municipal Judges and Secretaries, specifically that related to registration of Cuban citizens)becomes considerably relevant to understand and to godeeper into the origins of this complex process, as well asto achieve a re-encounter with the history of those who passed through those times, currently a hidden history in the shadows of Civil Registration offices, but still alive and thus allowing us to find all the beauty that there was in it.
Towards controlling PCDD/F production in a multi-fuel fired BFB boiler using two sulfur addition strategies
2014
Abstract PCDD/F abatement strategies – sulfur pellet addition and peat co-combustion – were tested for a BFB boiler facility utilizing SRF-bark-sludge as fuel. In this paper chemical and physical analyses of electrostatic precipitator (ESP) fly ashes were used to explain the differences in the performance of these strategies. These analyses revealed a difference between the coarse and fine fly ashes collected in the ESP. Chemical analysis of the fine fly ashes revealed high concentration of easily volatilized elements while the SEM micrographs showed that fine ash are composed of clusters of spherical particles, thereby leading to a conclusion that fine ashes were originally in a gas phase …
BENDAMUSTINE IN ASSOCIATION WITH RITUXIMAB AS SALVAGE THERAPY FOR SPLENIC MARGINAL ZONE LYMPHOMA
2010
At present, a prospectively validated treatment for SMZL is lacking. Despite this fact, splenectomy is still deemed to be the best choice for patients requiring treatment. Nevertheless, the high fraction of patients achieving a clinical response following splenectomy eventually relapses or progresses
Social psychological aspects of ACL injury prevention and rehabilitation: An integrated model for behavioral adherence
2017
Managing rehabilitation for ACL injury is dependent on uptake of, and compliance with, medical and safety recommendations. In this paper, we propose a multi-theory model that integrates self-determination theory and the theory of planned behavior to identify the motivational determinants ACL injury prevention and management behaviors and the processes involved. nonPeerReviewed
Effects of High-Definition Anodal Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation Applied Simultaneously to Both Primary Motor Cortices on Bimanual Sensorimo…
2017
Many daily activities, such as tying one’s shoe laces, opening a jar of jam or performing a free throw in basketball, require the skillful coordinated use of both hands. Even though the non-invasive method of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has been repeatedly shown to improve unimanual motor performance, little is known about its effects on bimanual motor performance. More knowledge about how tDCS may improve bimanual behavior would be relevant to motor recovery, e.g., in persons with bilateral impairment of hand function. We therefore examined the impact of high-definition anodal tDCS (HD-atDCS) on the performance of a bimanual sequential sensorimotor task. Thirty-two volun…
