Questo saggio ripercorre le vicende legata alla ricostruzione della Cattedrale di Coventry, mettendo in evidenza quanta importanza abbia avuto per la cittadinanza, il mantenimento delle rovine sopravvissute ai bombardamenti del 14 novembre 1940. Da questo luogo, in anni più recenti, si è dipanato il nuovo recupero del centro storico ormai fatiscente delle città, curato dallo studio londinese MJP Archiects (McCormac, Jamieson e Prichard) sotto l’etichetta di Phoenix Initiative. The meaning of “cultural patrimony” includes today both the objects and the popular traditions. Territory, local architecture, daily life uses and customs have been placed side by side to “dignified” finds in the role of testimony of the past. Such testimony is firmly connected to the territory and its landscape. In fact, the sites of archaeological interest, but mostly the prehistoric sites, are recognized not only for their intrinsic value, but also for the space that they represent. Today, a greater attention is paid to natural environment and there is a greater awareness that the “archaeological patrimony” assumes a connotation more and more tied up to the territory that identifies it. …

Abstract Background Mediterranean spotted fever (MSF) is an acute febrile, zoonotic disease caused by Rickettsia conorii and transmitted to humans by the brown dogtick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. Nearly four hundred cases are reported every year (mainly from June to September) on the Italian island of Sicily. The aim of the study was to analyze the clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients with MSF and the efficacy of the drugs administered.
