Real-world optimization problems are often subject to several constraints which are expensive to evaluate in terms of cost or time. Although a lot of effort is devoted to make use of surrogate models for expensive optimization tasks, not many strong surrogate-assisted algorithms can address the challenging constrained problems. Efficient Global Optimization (EGO) is a Kriging-based surrogate-assisted algorithm. It was originally proposed to address unconstrained problems and later was modified to solve constrained problems. Assessing statistical significance in multivariable genome wide association analysis

Motivation: Although Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) genotype a very large number of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), the data are often analyzed one SNP at a time. The low predictive power of single SNPs, coupled with the high significance threshold needed to correct for multiple testing, greatly decreases the power of GWAS. Results: We propose a procedure in which all the SNPs are analyzed in a multiple generalized linear model, and we show its use for extremely high-dimensional datasets. Towards Stable Radial Basis Function Methods for Linear Advection Problems

In this work, we investigate (energy) stability of global radial basis function (RBF) methods for linear advection problems. Classically, boundary conditions (BC) are enforced strongly in RBF methods. By now it is well-known that this can lead to stability problems, however. Here, we follow a different path and propose two novel RBF approaches which are based on a weak enforcement of BCs. W niniejszym artykule zostaje wprowadzone do obiegu naukowego nowe źródło do badań nad historią armii litewskiej w okresie wielkiej wojny północnej (1700–1721), którym jest projekt komputu z 1703 r. Znajduje się on w Bibliotece Kórnickiej Polskiej Akademii Nauk w rękopisie o sygnaturze 985. W inwentarzu rękopisów biblioteki widnieje natomiast jako komput z 1706 r. Trudno jednak ustalić faktyczną datę jego powstania. Możliwe jest jedynie oszacowanie pewnych cezur. Sporządzony został na pewno przed 27 listopada 1703 r. Il contributo descrive e analizza i complessi scultorei presenti nell'abside della chiesa del Gesù nella Casa Professa di Palermo, nell'intervallo di anni compreso tra il 1703 e il 1721, ad opera del pittore Antonino Grano e dello scultore Giacomo Serpotta, due degli artisti più affermati e apprezzati del tempo. L'opera in questione, nel suo complesso, può essere considerata come il punto di convergenza e di ulteriore sviluppo delle ricerche e delle esperienze che i due artisti stavano in quegli anni percorrendo.

Kvalifikācijas darba tēma ir “Vecākā pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu dialogrunas veidošanās radošajā rotaļā”. Pētījuma mērķis – pētīt vecākā pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu dialogrunas veidošanās radošajā rotaļā. Pētījums sastāv no teorētiskās un empīriskās daļas. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek apskatītas pedagogu un psihologu atziņas, analizēta lomu rotaļu nozīme pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu dialogrunas veidošanos. Rotaļa ir ļoti nozīmīgs bērna audzināšanas un mācīšanās līdzeklis, kas veicina bērnam apgūt saskarsmes prasmes, veidot savstarpējas attiecības, attīstīt valodu, domāšanu, atmiņu, māca bērnu koordinēt savu darbību ar vienaudžu darbību.
