Association between physiological stress and skin temperature response after a half marathon

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to determine the association between skin temperature response and the physiological stress after a half marathon. APPROACH: Seventeen runners were measured 48 h before, 24 h before, 24 h after and 48 h after completing a half marathon. The measurements on each day of testing included blood markers (creatine kinase [CK] and glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase [GOT]), perception of pain and fatigue (using a visual analogue scale), skin temperature (using infrared thermography), and jump performance (using countermovement jump test). International audience; The objective of this study was to identify the key biomechanical patterns (functional muscles and kinematics) of amateur horse riders during various cross-country jumps in equestrian. International audience; The aims of this study are to investigate muscular fatigue and to propose a new fatigue index based on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) which is compared to the standard fatigue indexes from literature. Inability of Laplace's law to estimate sub-bandage pressures after applying a compressive bandage: a clinical study

Objective: The aim of the current study was to compare pressures exerted on the lower limb by a high compression bandage as recorded by sub-bandage sensors and those estimated by Laplace's law. The correlation between pressures obtained in each anatomical zone and the corresponding limb perimeters were explored. Assessment of haemophilic arthropathy through balance analysis: a promising tool

Ancestral Reconstruction and Investigations of Genomic Recombination on some Pentapetalae Chloroplasts

Abstract In this article, we propose a semi-automated method to rebuild genome ancestors of chloroplasts by taking into account gene duplication. Two methods have been used in order to achieve this work: a naked eye investigation using homemade scripts, whose results are considered as a basis of knowledge, and a dynamic programming based approach similar to Needleman-Wunsch.
