Purpose: Social policies of the advanced countries have begun to incorporate sport to speak on manifestations of social exclusion, as tool to reach out to young people, strengthen their identity or enhance self-esteem vulnerable groups. The Influence of Religion on Life Satisfaction in Italy

Italy is the cradle of Catholicism and, despite the secularization process, religion continues to be part of its national culture. Although Italian sociologists have investigated the religious paradigm in Italy, there are aspects of such phenomenon still little explored. This paper examines the potential influence religion has on individuals’ life satisfaction. Data from the European Value Study survey provides evidence of a two-way interaction between religion and life satisfaction, with a substantial effect only in the case of public religious forms. We identified relevant stakeholder groups with the municipality, and asked them about their communication preferences through a combined Delphi study and survey approach. Does the European Commission (Commission) manage to transform and re-direct the roles played by Commission civil servants? To test the old neo-functionalist claim on loyalty transfer among civil servants, this article provides fresh survey and interview data on seconded national experts in the Commission. The transformative powers of the Commission are tested by assessing the extent to which seconded national experts adopt supranational role perceptions. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan sosiaalityön muutosta keskisuuressa suomalaisessa kunnassa vuosina 2000-2014. Tutkimuksen kohteena on Heinolan kaupunki ja sen sosiaalityö aikuissosiaalityön, lastensuojelun ja vammaispalvelun osalta. Tutkimuksen taustoituksena on sosiaalityön muutoksen kuvausta eri tutkimuksista ja sosiaalipolitiikan muutoksen kuvausta. Tutkimus on tapaustutkimus, ja siinä on hyödynnetty kolmea erilaista aineistoa. Fortellinger om gutters krise, jenters fremgang og skolens utfordringer med sosiale ulikheter

Gutter som skolens tapere er blitt en dominerende fortelling gjennom mange år og gjentas nok en gang gjennom Stoltenbergutvalgets rapport om kjønnsforskjellene i skolen. Fortellingen bygger på en dikotomisk kjønnsforståelse og ikke en forståelse av at kjønn er mangfoldig og konstrueres kontinuerlig i kulturelle, sosiale og språklige sammenhenger. Ved å betrakte gutter som skolens tapere som et dominerende narrativ belyser jeg premissene for en slik fortelling, konsekvensene den har og hvilke fortellinger som usynliggjøres eller stilles i skyggen – fortellinger om en skole som ikke evner å utjevne de sosiale ulikhetene den har et mål om å utjevne.

Spørsmålet som søkes å besvares er følgende: Hvordan bruker frivillige hjelpeorganisasjoner sosiale medier til å kommunisere en vanskelig og omfattende flyktningsituasjon for å prøve å fremme et frivillig engasjement?
