Young Learners' Perceptions of Learning about Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment: The Struggle for Recognition in School

2022

Abstract Based on participatory research with teachers and young learners’, this article explores students’ perceptions of learning about sexual and gender-based harassment in upper secondary school in Norway. Drawing upon theoretical considerations on recognition, intersectionality and legal literacy as educational capital, this article discusses approaches to teaching and learning that could ensure young learners’ rights to active participation and voice, which is an essential element for protection and prevention of harassment. The empirical material indicates that learners would like to learn more about these sensitive issues, although this applies to a greater extent for girls rather t…

Towards a legal standard? Human rights in Norwegian businesses : A case study on how cooperation between non-governmental organizations and business …

2021

Master's thesis in Global Development and Planning (UT505) In 2011, the United Nations endorsed the UNGP principles developed by Harvard professor John Ruggie. The “protect, respect and remedy” framework has become an international standard for business conduct considering human rights. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for human rights violations to happen in relation to global production. For many years, civil society organizations in Norway have campaigned for legislation to be implemented, where the Norwegian government has responded that voluntary business practice is more effective. Since 2018, Etikkinformasjonsutvalget has investigated if there a need for a human rights law in Norweg…

En statlig norm for livsfortolkning : en analyse av debatten om "Felles ekteskapslov for heterofile og homofile par” ved hjelp av Robert C. Nevilles …

2013

Avhandling for graden doctor philosophiae Universitetet i Agder, Fakultet for humaniora og pedagogikk In this study, the process leading up to the adoption of the Norwegian Same-sex marriage laws is taken as an example of how normativity is institutionalized in a field related to the religious dimensions of life, in a pluralized society. A comparative analysis of interpretations of the personal identity and the norm for the primary human affiliation in three categories of documents is performed, based on Robert Cumming Neville’s hypothesis of theology as symbolic engagement. These documents are (1) The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child and Norwegian family laws, (2) the governmental …

Atthe same time, innovations must adhere to increasingly strictprivacy regulations especially related to personal health data. While prior research has indicated that privacy regulation can have both constraining and stimulating effects on innovation in general, there is a knowledge gap on how privacy regulation affects HIS innovation specifically. Assessment of genetically modified cotton GHB614 × T304‐40 × GHB119 for food and feed uses, import and processing under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 …

2018

International audience; The three-event stack cotton GHB614 x T304-40 x GHB119 was produced by conventional crossing to combine three single events, GHB614, T304-40 and GHB119. The genetically modified organisms (GMO) Panel previously assessed the three single cotton events and did not identify safety concerns. No new data on the single cotton events that could lead to modification of the original conclusions on their safety were identified. Based on the molecular, agronomic, phenotypic and compositional characteristics, the combination of the single cotton events and of the newly expressed proteins in the three-event stack cotton did not give rise to food and feed safety concern. The GMO P…

2015

Requestor: European CommissionQuestion number: EFSA-Q-2015-00126; The Scientific Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA GMO Panel) has evaluated the overall safety of genetically modified (GM) carnation SHD-27531-4 cut flowers to be imported into the European Union (EU) for ornamental use. The genetic modification results in the flowers having purple petals. The stability of the new colour trait was observed over multiple vegetative generations. The purple colour of the petals comes from the altered expression levels of anthocyanins, common pigments found in edible fruits and vegetables. Considering the intended use of the GM carnation and the po…

Konfliktråd i fengsel : rapport fra et prosjekt 2003/2004

2005
