Representation of solutions and large-time behavior for fully nonlocal diffusion equations

Abstract We study the Cauchy problem for a nonlocal heat equation, which is of fractional order both in space and time. We prove four main theorems: (i) a representation formula for classical solutions, (ii) a quantitative decay rate at which the solution tends to the fundamental solution, (iii) optimal L 2 -decay of mild solutions in all dimensions, (iv) L 2 -decay of weak solutions via energy methods. The first result relies on a delicate analysis of the definition of classical solutions. Riesz transform and vertical oscillation in the Heisenberg group

We study the $L^{2}$-boundedness of the $3$-dimensional (Heisenberg) Riesz transform on intrinsic Lipschitz graphs in the first Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}$. Inspired by the notion of vertical perimeter, recently defined and studied by Lafforgue, Naor, and Young, we first introduce new scale and translation invariant coefficients $\operatorname{osc}_{\Omega}(B(q,r))$. These coefficients quantify the vertical oscillation of a domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb{H}$ around a point $q \in \partial \Omega$, at scale $r > 0$. Root canal morphology and configuration of 123 maxillary second molars by means of micro-CT.

The aim of this study was to investigate the root canal configuration, accessory canals and number of main foramina of 123 maxillary second molars by means of micro-computed tomography. The teeth were scanned and reproduced with 3D software imaging. The root canal configuration and number of main foramina were evaluated by means of a four-digit system. The morphological complexity of human maxillary second molars is depicted by the number of accessory and connecting canals. The most frequently observed root canal configurations in the mesiobuccal root were 2-2-2/2 (19.5%), 2-2-1/1 (14.6%) and 2-1-1/1 (13.0%). Effects of garlic powders with varying alliin contents on hepatic drug metabolizing enzymes in rats

International audience; The anticarcinogenic effect of garlic has been demonstrated in both epidemiologic and experimental studies. In this study, possible mechanisms involved in the anticarcinogenic effect of garlic consumption were assessed by determining its capacity to alter drug metabolizing enzymes, in relation with its alliin content. Rats were fed a diet for 2 weeks containing 5% garlic powders produced from bulbs grown on soils with different levels of sulfate fertilization and therefore containing differing amounts of alliin. Taking Stock and Re-Examining the Role of Science Communication

Eight science communication research projects have been funded by the European Commission since 2018. These projects are a response to one of the European Commission's 'Science with and for Society' (SwafS) funding calls ¿ 'SwafS-19: Taking stock and re-examining the role of science communication.' Together these projects have received almost ¿10 million in research funding, and each has been affected to some extent by the COVID-19 global pandemic. This paper provides an overview of the eight projects, how they adapted to the challenges caused by the pandemic, and the subsequent implications for science communication policy and research funding.
