Financial Fragmentation and Economic Growth in Europe

2015

Using industry data from Eurostat and applying the Rajan-Zingales methodology, we investigate the real growth effects of banking sector integration in the European Union. Our sample stretches from 2000 until 2012 and includes the phase of rapid financial integration before the global financial crisis as well as the following phase of financial fragmentation and bank deleveraging. We find evidence that banking sector integration had a more than four times stronger growth effect during the crisis than in normal times. Growth effects are also stronger in times of domestic bank deleveraging. We conclude that concerns of European policy makers about fragmentation in the European banking sector a…

Izdegšanas klīnisko apakštipu aptaujas īsās versijas (BSCQ-12-LV) validitātes pārbaude

2019

Pētījuma ietvaros tika izmantotas trīs aptaujas: Izdegšanas klīnisko apakštipu aptauja (angliski – Burnout Clinical Subtype Questionnaire, BCSQ-36) (MonteroMarín & García-Campayo, 2010), Maslakas izdegšanas vispārīgā aptauja (angliski – The Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey, MBI-GS) (Maslach, Jackson & Lei…

UAV-Assisted Data Collection in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Comprehensive Survey

2021

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are usually deployed to different areas of interest to sense phenomena, process sensed data, and take actions accordingly. The networks are integrated with many advanced technologies to be able to fulfill their tasks that is becoming more and more complicated. These networks tend to connect to multimedia networks and to process huge data over long distances. Due to the limited resources of static sensor nodes, WSNs need to cooperate with mobile robots such as unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in their developments. The mobile devices show their maneuverability, computational and energy-storage abilities to support WSNs in mul…

Studio quantitativo della densità ossea dell’ottava vertebra toracica in pazienti sottoposti a TC del cuore

2016

The location of vertebral fractures due to osteoporosis is more frequent in the middle thoracic tract (T8) and in the thoraco-lumbar junction (T12-L1): the T8 vertebra is included in the CT scan volume of the heart. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the density T8 bone in relation to cardiovascular risk factors and the severity of the pathology found in the CT of the heart.

Training needs of teachers in ICT: Training profiles and elements of complexity

2011

Training needs of teachers in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is one of the key aspects for the integration of ICT in daily educational practice, along with competences in ICT and the use of these technological resources by teachers. The aim of this paper is to establish teacher training profiles and relate them to their competences in ICT and the use thereof, together with personal and contextual factors. To this end, it has been used a survey design, with the sample 868 teachers from primary and secondary education in the Comunidad Valenciana. The instrument for collecting information is a questionnaire. The results indicate that teachers demand higher-level training in p…
