A Sub-Supersolution Approach for Robin Boundary Value Problems with Full Gradient Dependence

The paper investigates a nonlinear elliptic problem with a Robin boundary condition, which exhibits a convection term with full dependence on the solution and its gradient. A sub- supersolution approach is developed for this type of problems. The main result establishes the existence of a solution enclosed in the ordered interval formed by a sub-supersolution. The result is applied to find positive solutions.

Location of solutions for quasi-linear elliptic equations with general gradient dependence

Existence and location of solutions to a Dirichlet problem driven by $(p,q)$-Laplacian and containing a (convection) term fully depending on the solution and its gradient are established through the method of subsolution-supersolution. Here we substantially improve the growth condition used in preceding works. The abstract theorem is applied to get a new result for existence of positive solutions with a priori estimates.

Comparing Conservation Value Maps and Mapping Methods in a Rural Landscape in Southern Finland

We tested to what extent conservation value maps are different if the valuation and mapping method is changed. We compared 66 different conservation value and 4 different ecosystem service maps. Using remote sensing and other georeferenced data, we produced 2 different habitat type maps, which were 50 % similar. We valued each mapped habitat type based on rarity corrected potential number of vascular plant species and naturalness using 6 different valuation alternatives. Worldwide, tons of lignin is produced annually in pulping plants and it is mainly considered as a waste material. Usually lignin is burned to produce energy for the pulping reactors. The production of value-added materials from renewable materials like lignin, has proved to be challenging. The present paper aims to identify the causes of under-representation of women in E-sports. According to a genre perspective, interest in videogames at the amateur level is quite similar. However, in its professional level, female participation becomes very limited. The fact that physical effort is irrelevant (a requirement for ?traditional sports?) could be considered a variable that would negatively affect greater to equality in the conditions of access and participation of women in electronic sports.
