Automatic texture mapping on real 3D model

We propose a full automatic technique to project virtual texture on a real textureless 3D object. Our system is composed of cameras and projector and are used to determine the pose of the object in the real world with the projector as reference and then estimate the image seen by the projector if it would be a camera.
Novel view synthesis for projective texture mapping on real 3D objects

Industrial reproduction, as stereography or lithography, have a lack in texture information, as they only deal with 3D reconstruction. In this paper, we provide a new technique to map texture on real 3D objects, by synthesizing a novel view from two camera images to a projector frame, considered as a camera acting in reverse. No prior information on the pose or the shape of the 3D object is necessary, however hard calibration of the complete system is needed.

Abstract Many fold-and-thrust belts are dominated by folding and exhibit a fairly regular fold-spacing. Yet, in map-view, the aspect ratio of doubly-plunging anticlines varies considerably from very elongated, and sometimes slightly curved, cylindrical folds to nearly circular, dome-like structures. In addition, the fold spacing often varies significantly around an average value. So far, it remains unclear whether these features are consistent with a folding instability. Characterization of the 3D information of Calyptogena shells

We propose in this paper an application of multiresolution analysis techniques to extract information contained in the growth increments of a bivalve mollusk called: Calyptogena . The first stage consists in extracting a range image of the mollusk’s shell using a 3-D scanner. Applying a multiresolution analysis enables us to localize precisely those growth increments by preserving relevant details. Moreover, interesting spatial and frequency properties of the multiresolution analysis underline information contained on the shell. To commemorate the battle of May 27, 1860, the City Council of Palermo in 1910 decided to build a monument. The center of a large circular plaza was chosen to serve as the final part of an elegant arterial road on the edge of the town where the monument would have done as a backdrop. The construction of the monument was commissioned to Ernesto Basile who also designed the plan of the garden, beyond which ran a circular road that delimited and concluded the square.
