Psychological flexibility, occupational burnout and eating behavior among working women

2013

Background: Occupational burnout is associated with diminished psychological flexibility and higher emotional (EE) and uncontrolled eating (UE). Psychological flexibility could be a mediating factor between burnout and eating behaviour. Objectives: To investigate differences in eating behaviour between those with different levels of psychological flexibility, and the association of the interaction between psychological flexibility and occupational burnout with eating behaviour. Design: The participants were working women (n = 263), who took part in the randomized controlled health intervention trial. Analyses were performed in a cross-sectional setting at baseline. Methods: Eating behaviour…

Effects of moderate vs. high iso-inertial loads on power, velocity, work and hamstring contractile function after flywheel resistance exercise.

2019

Flywheel iso-inertial training has been shown to positively affect muscular strength and sports performance (e.g. agility). However, implementing such eccentrically-biased training during a microcycle needs to be carefully planned due to its purported effects on the neuromuscular system that can last for hours/days post-exercise. This study aimed at using tensiomyography to verify the effects of different inertias during the hip extension exercise on the contractile function of biceps femoris and semitendinosus muscles of the dominant leg for up to 72 hours post-exercise. Thirty participants (24.4 ± 3.4 years) were divided into 0.075 or 0.1 kg·m2 inertia groups and a control group. Magnitud…

The prevalence of musculoskeletal pain and use of painkillers among adolescent male ice hockey players in Finland

2014

Participating in competitive sport increases the risk for injuries and musculoskeletal pain among adolescent athletes. There is also evidence that the use of prescription drugs has increased among sport club athletes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of painkillers among young male ice hockey players (IHP) in comparison to schoolboys (controls) and its relation to the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain and problems during activities and sleeping. Information was gathered through a questionnaire, completed by 121 IHP and compared to the responses of 618 age-matched controls. Results showed that monthly existing pain was at 82% for IHP, and 72% for controls, though IHP had st…

Nitrous oxide emission budgets and land-use-driven hotspots for organic soils in Europe

2014

Organic soils are a main source of direct emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), an important greenhouse gas (GHG). Observed N2O emissions from organic soils are highly variable in space and time, which causes high uncertainties in national emission inventories. Those uncertainties could be reduced when relating the upscaling process to a priori-identified key drivers by using available N2O observations from plot scale in empirical approaches. We used the empirical fuzzy modelling approach MODE to identify main drivers for N2O and utilize them to predict the spatial emission pattern of European organic soils. We conducted a meta-study with a total amount of 659 annual N2O measurements, which was…

1-n-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium-2-carboxylate: a versatile precatalyst for the ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone and rac-lactide under solv…

2013

The ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone (ε-CL) and rac-lactide (rac-LA) under solvent-free conditions and using 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-2-carboxylate (BMIM-2-CO2) as precatalyst is described. Linear and star-branched polyesters were synthesized by successive use of benzyl alcohol, ethylene glycol, glycerol and pentaerythritol as initiator alcohols, and the products were fully characterized by 1H and 13C{1H} NMR spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). BMIM-2-CO2 acts as an N-heterocyclic carbene precursor, resulting from in situ decarboxylation, either by heating under vacuo (method A) or by addition of NaBPh4 (method B)…

Structural and Thermal Properties of Ethylene-Norbornene Copolymers Obtained Using Vanadium Homogeneous and SIL Catalysts

2020

The series of ethylene-norbornene (E-NB) copolymers was obtained using different vanadium homogeneous and supported ionic liquid (SIL) catalyst systems. The 13C and 1H NMR (carbon and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy) together with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were applied to determine the composition of copolymers such as comonomer incorporation (CNB), monomer dispersity (MD), monomer reactivity ratio (re), sequence length of ethylene (le) and tetrad microblock distributions. The relation between the type of catalyst, reaction conditions and on the other hand, the copolymer microstructure, chain termination reaction analyzed by the type of unsaturation are discusse…

Kan alle ha glede av samme bok? Hvordan kan analyse av tre forskjellige verk bidra til forståelse av all-alder-litteratur-begrepet?

2021

Master´s thesis in Primary Teacher Education The purpose of this master's thesis is to investigate how crossover fiction is understood through analyzes of three literary works. Therefore, the research question isas follows: How can we analyze three different works to contribute to an understanding of the concept of crossover fiction? I will use Erlend Loes Kurtby, Lisa Aisato's Livet -illustrertand Oscar K. and Dorte Karrebæks Lejrentoshed light on the topic. The theoretical basis for the thesis is the research of some selected people on crossover fiction -Jon Fosse, Åse Marie Ommundsen, Sandra Beckett, Barbra Wall, and Maria Nikolajeva. In addition to this, I use Wolfgang Iser's thoughts on…

Easy access to heterobimetallic complexes for medical imaging applications via microwave-enhanced cycloaddition

2015

The Cu(I)-catalysed Huisgen cycloaddition, known as “click” reaction, has been applied to the synthesis of a range of triazole-linked porphyrin/corrole to DOTA/NOTA derivatives. Microwave irradiation significantly accelerates the reaction. The synthesis of heterobimetallic complexes was easily achieved in up to 60% isolated yield. Heterobimetallic complexes were easily prepared as potential MRI/PET (SPECT) bimodal contrast agents incorporating one metal (Mn, Gd) for the enhancement of contrast for MRI applications and one “cold” metal (Cu, Ga, In) for future radionuclear imaging applications. Preliminary relaxivity measurements showed that the reported complexes are promising contrast agent…

Mn 12 single-molecule magnets incorporated into mesoporous MCM-41 silica

2003

Abstract The incorporation of four Mn12 derivatives, namely [Mn12O12(O2CR)16(H2O)4] (R=CH3 (1), CH3CH2 (2), C6H5 (3), C6F5 (4)), into the hexagonal channels of the MCM-41 mesoporous silica have been studied. Only the smallest clusters 1 and 2 that are those with compatible size with the pores of MCM-41 could be incorporated into the mesoporous silica. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and N2 adsorption–desorption isotherm experiments show that the well-ordered hexagonal structure of MCM-41 is preserved and that the Mn12 clusters are inside the pores. The magnetic properties of the MCM-41/1 nanocomposite material indicate that the structure of the cluster is maintained after incorporat…
