Pētera Šmita sarakste ar Jāni Misiņu par latviešu valodas mācīšanu skolā, uzmanības pievēršanu tautas dziesmām, etnogrāfijai, lūgumu atsūtīt grāmatas
1916
P. Šmits vēstulē J. Misiņam izsaka pārdomas par stāvokli Rīgā, jo rit Pirmais pasaules karš, kā arī izsaka pārdomas par sava "Etnografisku rakstu krājuma" nākamā sējuma saturu, latviešu valodas mācīšanu skolā, uzmanības pievēršanu tautas dziesmām, etnogrāfijai. Vēstulē izskan lūgums atsūtīt vairākas grāmatas - kā J. Lautenbaha-Jūsmiņa, tā A. Niedras, Apsīšu Jēkaba, V. Rahmanova, H. Zālītes, E. Dinsberga, G. Merķeļa u.c. autoru, kā arī žurnālu "Druva" iznākušos numurus.
Interior Eigenvalue Density of Jordan Matrices with Random Perturbations
2017
International audience; We study the eigenvalue distribution of a large Jordan block subject to a small random Gaussian perturbation. A result by E. B. Davies and M. Hager shows that as the dimension of the matrix gets large, with probability close to 1, most of the eigenvalues are close to a circle. We study the expected eigenvalue density of the perturbed Jordan block in the interior of that circle and give a precise asymptotic description.; Nous étudions la distribution de valeurs propres d’un grand bloc de Jordan soumis à une petite perturbation gaussienne aléatoire. Un résultat de E. B. Davies et M. Hager montre que quand la dimension de la matrice devient grande, alors avec probabilité…
An attempt to classification of the quasi rational solutions to the NLS equation
2015
Based on a representation in terms of determinants of order 2N , an attempt to classification of quasi rational solutions to the one dimensional focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) is given and several conjectures about the structure of the solutions are also formulated. These solutions can be written as a product of an exponential depending on t by a quotient of two polynomials of degree N (N + 1) in x and t depending on 2N −2 parameters. It is remarkable to mention that in this representation, when all parameters are equal to 0, we recover the PN breathers.
N-order rational solutions to the Johnson equation depending on 2N - 2 parameter
2017
International audience; We construct rational solutions of order N depending on 2N-2 parameters. They can be written as a quotient of 2 polynomials of degree 2N(N+1) in x, t and 2N(N+1) in y depending on 2N-2 parameters. We explicitly construct the expressions of the rational solutions of order 4 depending on 6 real parameters and we study the patterns of their modulus in the plane (x,y) and their evolution according to time and parameters a1,a2,a3,b1,b2,b3.
Multi-parametric families solutions to the Burgers equation
2021
We construct 2N real parameter solutions to the Burgers' equation in terms of determinant of order N and we call these solutions, N order solutions. We deduce general expressions of these solutions in terms of exponentials and study the patterns of these solutions in functions of the parameters for N = 1 until N = 4.
Cropping system dynamics, climate variability, and seed losses among East African smallholder farmers: a retrospective survey.
2014
Abstract Climate variability directly affects traditional low input and rain-fed farming systems, but few studies have paid attention retrospectively to the cropping system’s ability to mitigate climate risk. This study analyzes the impacts of rainfall variability on farmers’ seed variety losses over time, considering changes in smallholder farming systems. The cropping system dynamics, in favoring maize at the expense of sorghum and pearl millet, have induced an increasing risk of seed loss during drought. Combining ecological anthropology and climatology, a retrospective survey asking farmers about the period 1961–2006 was carried out at three altitudinal levels (750, 950, and 1100 m) on …
Étude des interconnexions dans les réseaux de régulation de Listeria monocytogenes en réponse aux conditions de l'environnement
2019
The facultative intracellular pathogen Listeria monocytogenes is a highly adaptable organism widely distributed in the environment. The ingestion of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes by at-risk individuals can ultimately lead to listeriosis, one of the leading causes of food-borne fatalities in developed countries. Regulatory networks are crucial for the adaptation and survival of this pathogen. The accessory gene regulator (Agr) system has been shown to be involved in virulence, biofilm formation, and survival of L. monocytogenes, affecting the transcription of over 700 genes. The alternative sigma factor Sigma B (σB) controls the general stress response in L. monocytogenes, regulati…
Use of marked strains of pathogenic (FOL8) and protective (FO47) Fusarium oxysporum to visualize their interactions with the tomato root in soil
2008
Several modes of action have been proposed to explain the biocontrol capacity of the Fusarium oxysporum protective strain Fo47, especially competition with the pathogen for root colonization. Confocal microscopy has been used to visualize the interactions between the ransformed strains and the tomato root in soil. A disinfested soil was infested by Fo47 GFP, Fol8 DsRed2, or both fungi together at several concentrations before transplanting tomato seedlings. The general pattern of soil and root colonization was similar for the two fungi, but the saprophytic development of Fo47 was faster than that of the pathogenic strain. Conidia, at the surface of soil particles, germinated as early as 18 …
