Towards a theory of ex-combatant reintegration

This paper encourages the development of a theoretical framework for the study of the reintegration of ex-combatants after war. It takes the first steps towards this by proposing a new definition of reintegration, where the processes ex-combatants experience, rather than the programmatic support offered by international and national agencies, take centre stage. The article links the study of reintegration to two broader disciplines; political economy and sociology, and in particular to the two disciplines’ account of power and group belonging. Avicenna is a strong proponent of what some of the later ones call qāʻidat al-wāḥid or ‘rule of the one’ (RO). The gist of RO states: from the one only one directly proceeds. In the secondary literature, discussion of this Avicennian rule is usually limited to a particular application of it i.e., the issue of emanation. As result, it’s not really clear what RO means, nor why Avicenna endorsed it. In this paper, I try and remedy this situation by doing two things – one on the taṣawwur front, the other on the tasdīq. El present treball estudia el primer milacre vicentí de què es té constància que va ser imprés: La font de Llíria. Editat anònim a València, el 1822, per primera vegada, és una mostra del teatre popular i de carrer del segle XIX i, a més de ser reeditat en diferents ocasions, arribà a inspirar altres autors posteriors. The present work studies the first trext printed wich is considered a milacre (dramatic piece about Saint Vincent Ferrer). La font de Lliria was published anonymously in Valencia, in 1822, for the first time, and it is a sample of popular theater of the nineteenth century. It has been reedited on several occasions, and it has come to inspire later authors.

This article asks about the expansion of psychological, therapeutic and self-enhancement ethos through the networks and devices that configures middle and upper-middle classes, and about the ways in which this process is singled out starting from the encounter between coaching and psychology paradigms with golf fans, in contemporary Argentina. The empirical materials that support the analysis have been ethnographically produced from the interaction with golf players and coaches.

The atmospheric depth of the air shower maximum $X_{\mathrm{max}}$ is an observable commonly used for the determination of the nuclear mass composition of ultra-high energy cosmic rays. Direct measurements of $X_{\mathrm{max}}$ are performed using observations of the longitudinal shower development with fluorescence telescopes. At the same time, several methods have been proposed for an indirect estimation of $X_{\mathrm{max}}$ from the characteristics of the shower particles registered with surface detector arrays. Se pretende llamar la atención sobre un par de frases que aparecen justo hacia la mitad de la controvertida doxografía de Aristóteles que se puede leer en las Vidas y doctrinas de los filósofos más ilustres de Diógenes Laercio V 31, y que desde luego no corresponden a ningún sistema doxográfico conocido. Terahertz Spin‐to‐Charge Conversion by Interfacial Skew Scattering in Metallic Bilayers

The efficient conversion of spin to charge transport and vice versa is of major relevance for the detection and generation of spin currents in spin‐based electronics. Interfaces of heterostructures are known to have a marked impact on this process. Here, terahertz (THz) emission spectroscopy is used to study ultrafast spin‐to‐charge‐current conversion (S2C) in about 50 prototypical F|N bilayers consisting of a ferromagnetic layer F (e.g., Ni81Fe19, Co, or Fe) and a nonmagnetic layer N with strong (Pt) or weak (Cu and Al) spin‐orbit coupling.
