The Four Dimensions of Embodiment and the Experience of Illness

In this paper I will try to systematically lay out and describe the multiple dimensions of the embodied experience of illness, which until recently has been the main focus within the field of the phenomenology of medicine. In order to do this, I will turn to analysis of the nature of embodiment in Husserl’s phenomenology. I will argue that based on Husserl’s phenomenology of the body, one can distinguish four ways of experiencing one’s body, or four dimensions of embodiment. En la biografía intelectual de Sócrates que Platón relata en el Fedón, aquél, cuando describe su"segunda singladura" (99d) en la investigación de"la causa de la generación y de la destrucción de las cosas" (95d), apela en varias ocasiones a un método de investigación alternativo al empleado por los antiguos fisiólogos: método al que suele aludirse en la bibliografía sobre Platón con el rótulo de método lógico. El objetivo de este trabajo es doble: esclarecer, por una parte, la naturaleza de dicho método y su relación con la dialéctica; y, por otra, examinar su alcance y sus presupuestos.

En este artículo se muestra como el ¿giro metafísico¿ que tomó el pensamiento de Martin Heidegger después de la publicación de Ser y tiempo (1927) puede explicarse a partir de la interpretación errónea que se hizo de esa obra como contribución a la antropología filosófica. Cet article propose une confrontation inédite entre les dispositifs théoriques de deux philosophes contemporains, Renaud Barbaras et Nicolas Grimaldi, que l’auteur envisage en tant qu’ontologies de la vie. The paper presents a comparison of case studies about innovative ICT-supported pedagogical practices in two educational systems, namely Finland and Hong Kong. The two systems were selected for this in-depth comparison for three main reasons. First, Finland and Hong Kong performed well in several international comparative studies of educational achievement. Second, the case studies collected via the SITES Module 2 indicated rather different profiles between Finnish and Hong Kong schools in terms of ICT infrastructure and pedagogical practices. A new Three Color Marker for TCP flows

In Differentiated Services networks, packets may receive a different treatment according to their Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) label. As a consequence, packet marking schemes can be devised to differentiate packets belonging to a same TCP flow, with the goal of improving the experienced performance. This paper presents an extensive performance evaluation of a new adaptive packet marking scheme, which relies on three different service classes, provided by the DiffServ network.
