H2-Mβ1 and H2-Mβ2 Heterodimers Equally Promote CLIP Removal in I-Aq Molecules from Autoimmune-prone DBA/1 Mice
2001
Antigen-presenting cells degrade endocytosed antigens, e.g. collagen type II, into peptides that are bound and presented to arthritogenic CD4(+) helper T cells by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules. Efficient loading of many MHC class II alleles with peptides requires the assistance of H2-M (HLA-DM in humans), a heterodimeric MHC class II-like molecule that facilitates CLIP removal from MHC class II molecules and aids to shape the peptide repertoire presented by MHC class II to CD4(+) T cells. In contrast to the HLA-DM region in humans, the beta-chain locus is duplicated in mice, with the H2-Mb1 beta-chain distal to H2-Mb2 and the H2-Ma alpha-chain gene. H2-M alleles …
Understanding german fdi in latin america and asia: a comparison of glm estimators
2020
The growth of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in developing countries over the last decade has attracted an intense academic and policy-oriented interest for its determinants. Despite the gravity model being considered a useful tool to approximate bilateral FDI flows, the literature has seen a growing debate in relation to its econometric specification, so that which is the best estimator for the gravity equation is far from conclusive. This paper examines the determinants of German outward FDI in Latin America and Asia for the period 1996-2012 by evaluating the performance of alternative Generalized Linear Model (GLM) estimators. Our findings indicate that Negative Binomial Pseudo Maximum …
Axolotl MHC class II β chain: predominance of one allele and alternative splicing of the β1 domain
2001
The axolotl MHC is composed of multiple polymorphic class I loci linked to class II B loci. In this report, evidence of the existence of one class II B locus (Amme-DAB) that codes for two different transcripts is given. A 2.1-kb transcript is translated to a complete β chain and a shorter transcript of 1.8 kb encodes a molecule lacking the β1 domain. For two complete class II B mRNA synthesized, up to one mRNA devoid of the β1 domain is synthesized. Alternative splicing involving a peptide binding domain at a class II B locus evidenced in axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) is also observed for A. trigrinum, the tiger salamander. Very little variability is found among various axolotl MHC class II…
Point Mutation Rate of Bacteriophage ΦX174
2009
Abstract The point mutation rate of phage ΦX174 was determined using the fluctuation test. After identifying the genetic changes associated with the selected phenotype, we obtained an estimate of 1.0 × 10−6 substitutions per base per round of copying, which is consistent with Drake's rule (0.003 mutations per genome per round of copying in DNA-based microorganisms).
The Role of Marketing Tools in the Improvement of Consumers Financial Literacy
2015
Abstract The aim of the paper is to explore the contribution of different types of marketing communication in consumer financial literacy formation from a three component perspective. As a method a survey among the target audience of home loans was used. The authors have focused on consumer financial knowledge, financial behaviour and financial attitude that constitute financial literacy in home loan market. As a result of empirical analysis the authors have found that the biggest contribution to formation of consumers financial literacy (within all three components) have educational web sites of government authorities, official web sites of banks, consultations with bank specialists, schoo…
Control cuantitativo de la calidad en una empresa del sector servicios = Quantitative quality control in a company of the service industry
2013
