Resum: El concepte de vida de clausura plantejat per santa Teresa va determinar la naturalesa de les edificacions escomeses en el si de la congregació de carmelites descalços. La senzillesa i l’estretor requerits per la fundadora en l’establiment dels nous convents esdevingueren preceptes d’obligat compliment per part de les autoritats de l’orde, i quedaren recollits en les diverses constitucions internes generades al llarg dels segles XVI, XVII i XVIII. Aquest article analitza els models constructius establerts des dels inicis de l’existència de la congregació i la manera en què van ser aplicats amb posterioritat. Aquest article recupera el concepte d’art de la memòria aplicat a les obres de Ramon Llull a partir de la presentació i el comentari de figures de mans amb finalitats mnemotècniques, especulatives i predicadores, que es troben en els manuscrits lul·lians de l’Ars demonstrativa –escrita el 1283– datats del segle xiii i el xvi. En els manuscrits de Venècia (Bibl. Marciana, Lat. VI. 200), de Bèrgam (MA 365) i de San Candido (B. della Collegiata, VIII C.8), la mà està vinculada a la figura S de l’Ars demonstrativa. Variable Step Size P&O Algorithms for Coalescing Pump/Deoiling Hydrocyclone Produced Water Treatment System

This paper presents three variable step size P&O algorithms for optimizing the separation efficiency of a coalescing pump/deoiling hydrocyclone produced water treatment system. By continuously adjusting the pumping pressure, and subsequently the coalescing effect, the algorithms are used to minimize the oil concentration downstream the hydrocyclone. Due to the variable step size, the algorithms react rapidly to changes in the upstream produced water characteristics, at the same time as they reduce (or eliminate) steady-state oscillations. Based on both simulation and experimental testing, the study discusses advantages and disadvantages of the algorithms.

This paper deals with global methods for experimentally determining the static stiffness of multi-axis machining centres. Different devices used for measuring deflection, in specific, are explored, where accuracy and usability are highlighted. The methods were tested on a 3-axis CNC milling machine, 2-axis trunnion table and a 6-DOF industrial robot.
