Flavonoids from Teucrium fruticans L.

From aerial parts of <em>Teucrium fncticans</em> L. three flavonoids were isolated and identified as 5-hydroxy-6, 7, 3', 4'-tetramethoxyflavone, 5, 4'-dihydroxy-6, 7, 3'-trimethoxyflavone (cirsilineol) and 5, 4'-dihydroxy-6, 7-dimethoxyflavone (cirsimaritin). The former compound was found to be a predominant flavone aglycone constituent of the plant material. This is the first report on the isolation of flavonoids from the plant.

This article develops the notion of polyphonic silence as a means for thinking through the ethical and political ramifications of ethnographically encountering and writing about silenced violent pasts. To do so, it analyses and contrasts the silence surrounding two periods of extreme violence in northern Uganda: 1) the northern Ugandan war (1986–2006), which is contemporarily often shrouded by silence, and 2) the early decades of colonial and missionary expansion, which the Catholic church silences in its commemoration of the death of two Acholi catechists in 1918. Artikkelissa tutkitaan suomalaisen maiseman ja identiteetin kuvauksia suomenkielisessä rocklyriikassa vuosina 1980–1999. Aineisto muodostuu kahdestakymmenestä laulusta yhdeltätoista eri artistilta ja yhtyeeltä. Tutkimusmetodina käytetään temaattista sisällönanalyysiä. Kappaleiden ja niiden lyriikoiden tutkimus tuo lisätietoa Suomi-kuvan tutkimukseen ja nostaa esiin suomalaisen rockmusiikin äänen, joka on mukana ihmisten arjessa. Se aportan citas nuevas para 34 taxones de flora vascular incluidos en el Catálogo de Flora Protegida de Castilla y León y/o en la Lista Roja de la Flora Vascular Española, de los que se conocían pocas (o ninguna) localidades leonesas.SUMMARY: We provide new records of 34 taxa included in the Catalogue of Protected Flora of Castilla y León and/or in the Red List of Spanish Vascular Flora. Some of them represent additions to the checklist of flora of the province of León and the distribution of the others is not well known.
Notas taxonómicas y distributivas sobre Serapias lingua subsp. tunetana (Orchidaceae), una rara espècie endémica de Túnez

Serapias lingua subsp. tunetana, a rare endemic orchid confined to Tunis, northern of Tunisia, has been rediscovered far away from its type locality nearly after 22 years. Since its first finding in 1996 and its description published in 2005, the subspecies has not been found again, and was presumed to be extinct, or the taxon was erroneously identified. A detailed description of the subspecies justifying an amendment to its description, a map of its current distribution and colour photographs are also provided.
