Actions of two GABAA receptor benzodiazepine-site ligands that are mediated via non-γ2-dependent modulation.
2011
The potent sedative-hypnotic zolpidem and the convulsant methyl-6,7-dimethoxy-4-ethyl-β-carboline-3-carboxylate (DMCM) act primarily by binding to the benzodiazepine site of the main inhibitory neurotransmitter receptor, the pentameric γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABA(A)). This binding depends critically on the wild-type F77 residue of the GABA(A) receptor γ2 subunit. Mice with γ2 subunit F77I point mutation (γ2I77 mouse line) lose the high-affinity nanomolar binding of these ligands as well as their most robust behavioral actions at low doses. Interestingly, the γ2I77 mice offer a tool to study the actions of these substances mediated via other possible binding sites of the GABA(A…

A Criterium for the Strict Positivity of the Density of the Law of a Poisson Process
2011
We translate in semigroup theory our result (Leandre, 1990) giving a necessary condition so that the law of a Markov process with jumps could have a strictly positive density. This result express, that we have to jump in a finite number of jumps in a "submersive" way from the starting point to the end point if the density of the jump process is strictly positive in . We use the Malliavin Calculus of Bismut type of (Leandre, (2008;2010)) translated in semi-group theory as a tool, and the interpretation in semi-group theory of some classical results of the stochastic analysis for Poisson process as, for instance, the formula giving the law of a compound Poisson process.
About Quotient Orders and Ordering Sequences
2017
Summary In preparation for the formalization in Mizar [4] of lotteries as given in [14], this article closes some gaps in the Mizar Mathematical Library (MML) regarding relational structures. The quotient order is introduced by the equivalence relation identifying two elements x, y of a preorder as equivalent if x ⩽ y and y ⩽ x. This concept is known (see e.g. chapter 5 of [19]) and was first introduced into the MML in [13] and that work is incorporated here. Furthermore given a set A, partition D of A and a finite-support function f : A → ℝ, a function Σ f : D → ℝ, Σ f (X)= ∑ x∈X f(x) can be defined as some kind of natural “restriction” from f to D. The first main result of this article ca…
Derivations of quasi *-algebras
2004
The spatiality of derivations of quasi*-algebras is investigated by means of representation theory. Moreover, in view of physical applications, the spatiality of the limit of a family of spatial derivations is considered.
Cellular stress induces cap-independent alpha-enolase/MBP-1 translation.
2015
AbstractMyc promoter-binding protein-1 (MBP-1) is a shorter protein variant of the glycolytic enzyme alpha-enolase. Although several lines of evidence indicate that MBP-1 acts as a tumor suppressor, the cellular mechanisms and signaling pathways underlying MBP-1 expression still remain largely elusive. To dissect these pathways, we used the SkBr3 breast cancer cell line and non-tumorigenic HEK293T cells ectopically overexpressing alpha-enolase/MBP-1. Here, we demonstrate that induced cell stresses promote MBP-1 expression through the AKT/PERK/eIF2α signaling axis. Our results contribute to shedding light on the molecular mechanisms underlying MBP-1 expression in non-tumorigenic and cancer c…

Gluten-free flours from cereals, pseudocereals and legumes: Phenolic fingerprints and in vitro antioxidant properties.
2018
The interest in gluten-free (GF) products increases together with the increase in gluten-sensitive people. However, GF foods might have decreased nutritional quality as compared to the gluten containing counterparts. In this work, an investigation of the phenolic and antioxidant profile in 18 GF flours belonging to legumes, cereals and pseudocereals was achieved. Significant differences could be observed across samples. Total phenolic content was highest in violet rice flours, whereas total anthocyanins were highest in violet, nerone, and black rice flours. FRAP and ORAC antioxidant activities were correlated to phenolic contents and found to be higher in violet rice flours. Metabolomics hi…
