Jatkosodan retoriikka : argumentaatioanalyysi pääministeri Rangellin ja pääministeri Linkomiehen puheista

Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on selvittää, millaista retoriikkaa Suomen jatkosodan aikaiset pääministerit JW Rangell sekä Edwin Linkomies puheissaan käyttivät. Tarkastelen tutkimuskysymystä analysoimalla kaksi puhetta, joista toisen puheen piti Rangell syksyllä 1941. Toinen on Linkomiehen kesällä 1944 pitämä puhe. Analysoin puheet erittäin tarkasti käyttämällä metodina valtio-opin alalla yleistä argumentaatioanalyysia. Pääasiallisena teoreetikkona käytän Chaim Perelmanin retoriikkatutkimusta ja tukena myös Aristoteleen Retoriikka-teosta sekä uudempaa retoriikka- ja sotaretoriikkatutkimusta. Student evaluations of the credibility and argumentation of online sources

This study investigated upper secondary school students’ skills in evaluating the credibility and argumentative content of a blog text and a YouTube video. Both sources concerned child vaccination, the blog text opposing and the YouTube video supporting it. Students rated each source as credible, fairly credible or non-credible, justified their ratings, and analyzed the argumentation of both sources. Their justifications were analyzed for trustworthiness and expertise and their argument analyses for identification of the main position of the source and the reasons supporting it. The present article delves into the history of political philosophy by discussing human sociability in Antonio Montecatini's (1537–99) commentary on Aristotle's Politics. The focus is on a philosophical analysis of three interrelated ideas that Montecatini discusses: (1) Aristotle's dictum that human beings are political animals by nature; (2) naturalness of the household; and (3) the nature and origin of political communities. This article focuses on religiousness and spirituality in the art works of psychiatric patients of Nikkilä Hospital, Finland. The pictures analysed here belong to a collection held at the Helsinki City Museum and they were made during the twentieth century. The theoretical frame of the study is a cultural study of mental health. The collection is approached as presenting a specific kind of imagery which has connections not only to the personal history and diagnoses of the patients; their cultural context and hospital environment is also taken into account. This research explored rural state school teachers’ perceptions concerning parental involvement in children’s education in a developing country context. The data were collected through thematic interviews with teachers of public schools situated in the rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. The study findings revealed teachers’ frustration and disappointment regarding parental involvement. Tarkastelen artikkelissa hedelmöityshoitoja koskevan lakiprosessin aikaista kamppailua, joka realisoitui Laiksi hedelmöityshoidoista (1237/2006). Analysoin tarkemmin lain viidettä pykälää (1237/2006, 5§) sekä siitä lakiesityksessä HE 3/2006 esitettyjä perusteluja. Pykälän mukaan lääkärin tulee valita sukusolujen luovuttajista hoitoa saavan parin osapuolia muistuttavat henkilöt, sillä lapsen tulee saada muistuttaa myös sosiaalista vanhempaansa. This paper presents a cloud screening algorithm based on ensemble methods that exploits the combined information from both MERIS and AATSR instruments on board ENVISAT in order to improve current cloud masking products for both sensors. The first step is to analyze the synergistic use of MERIS and AATSR images in order to extract some physically-based features increasing the separability of clouds and surface. The mediating role of behavioural automaticity and intention on past to future bootcamp attendance

Objective The aim of the current study was to test whether behavioural automaticity and intention mediated the effects of past behaviour on a particular type of vigorous physical exercise: bootcamp attendance. Methods A community sample (N = 69) who had previously attended a bootcamp class was recruited from Queensland, Australia. Participants were asked to complete measures of their previous bootcamp attendance, behavioural automaticity, and intention to attend bootcamps (Time 1).
