Changes in the shore topography (e.g. slope) occur at a scale of hundreds of meters in several locations in the Lusitanian and the Mediterranean Sea provinces. We tested whether differences in the bottom inclination might affect the vertical distribution patterns of two sympatric coastal labrid fishes, the rainbow wrasse Coris julis and the ornate wrasse Thalassoma pavo. Recently described biochemical and structural aspects of fucose-binding lectins from the European eel (Anguilla anguilla) and striped bass (Morone saxatilis) led to the identification of a novel lectin family ("F-type" lectins) characterized by a unique sequence motif and a characteristic structural fold. AbstractThermoelectric modules can be used in waste heat harvesting, sensing, and cooling applications. Here, we report on the fabrication and performance of a four-leg module based on abundant silicide materials. While previously optimized Mg2Si0.3Sn0.675Bi0.025 is used as the n-type leg, we employ a fractional factorial design based on the Taguchi methods mapping out a four-dimensional parameter space among Mnx-εMoεSi1.75−δGeδ higher manganese silicide compositions for the p-type material. Abreviatūru veidošana ir arvien biežāk novērojams fenomens mūsdienu valodās. Šajā darbā apskatītas vairākas vārdu darināšanas metodes, bet īpaša uzmanība pievērsta abreviatūrām un to lietojumam rakstos par jaunuzņēmumiem. Pētījumā konstatēts, ka visa veida saīsinātās formas korpusā parādās aptuveni vienreiz pa katriem 50 vārdiem. Tika atklāts, ka lielākā daļa no abreviatūrām korpusā ir saīsinājumi, bet rakstos tika atrasti arī iniciālismi, strupinājumi, teleskopējumi un akronīmi. Kā paredzēts, korpusā visbiežāk sastopamās bija abreviatūras no biznesa un uzņēmējdarbības jomas. Nākotnes pētījumi izpētes vērienu varētu paplašināt, aplūkojot abreviatūras no diahroniskas perspektīvas.

Il contributo costituisce il primo studio unitario sulla catacomba e sulle aree funerarie cristiane sub-divo delle Regiones III, IV e V di Sabratha (Libia). After the earthquake of 365 A.D., the gradual process of Christianisation that involved the territories of North Africa left many signs in the Regio Tripolitania. Sabratha became a diocesan centre during the 4th and 5th centuries, and the Paleochristian catacomb, excavated after the Peace of the Church in year 313, is the first attestation of the new faith, togerther with the open-air funerary areas distributed between the episcopal complex of the Regio III, the Oceanus Thermae, the Theatre in the Regio IV and the Temple of Hercules.

The Pyrenean-Cantabrian Orogen arose through the collision of the Iberian and Eurasian plates, mostly in Cenozoic times. This orogen comprises two main mountain ranges, the Pyrenees to the east, and the Cantabrian Mountains to the west. To date, the early Alpine tectono-sedimentary phases preserved in the Cantabrian Mountains, of Permian and Triassic age, have been considered independently from the same phases in neighbouring basins of SW Europe, and even from the eastern part of the same orogeny (the Pyrenean orogeny).
