Sol–gel entrapped catalyst SiliaCat Pd(0) heterogeneously mediates the Sonogoashira coupling of different aryl halides and phenylacetylene either under thermal conditions or, much more efficiently, under microwave irradiation, affording good conversions of coupled products. Leaching of valued Pd is limited, and the catalyst can be reused.

AbstractThis paper reports about cotton textile modification by sol-gel technology with the purpose of obtaining antibacterial properties, evaluation of antibacterial properties and dermal toxicity tests of cotton textile with Zn and Si coating. Antibacterial properties evaluation against pathogenic microorganisms Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli made using the Parallel streak method in accordance with ATCC147 standard. For more specific evaluation of the coated textile, in vitro cytotoxicity test with epidermal HaCat cells was done. Successful laparoscopic management of congenital diaphragmatic relaxation: A case report

Highlights • We describe a case report of congenital Diaphragmatic relaxation treated with totally laparoscopic plication of the left hemidiaphragm with nonresorbable sutures. • In our case report the diaphragmatic relaxation seemed to be congenital and the laparoscopic approach resulted the most appropriate technique to obtain the repositioning of abdominal organs and diaphragmatic placation. • A brief review of literature was performed to identify outcomes and potentially surgical advantages of laparoscopic approach for diaphragmatic relaxation. Laparoscopic approach can only be practiced in selected cases.

Profile of glycopyrronium for once-daily treatment of moderate-to-severe COPD

Bronchodilators are central in the symptomatic management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMAs) and long-acting β(2)-agonists (LABAs) are the main classes of long-acting bronchodilators. To date, tiotropium is the only once-daily LAMA available for the treatment of COPD. Glycopyrronium is a novel LAMA, currently in development for COPD. Phase II studies have shown that glycopyrronium 50 μg once daily provides clinically significant 24-hour bronchodilation with a rapid onset of action, which is faster than that of tiotropium, and a favorable safety and tolerability profile.
