Elogio del populismo (en ciertas circunstancias). Notas sobre el kirchnerismo en Argentina
2014
Genetic instability in calamondin (Citrus madurensis Lour.) plants derived from somatic embryogenesis induced by diphenylurea derivative
2007
Somatic embryos were regenerated in vitro from calamondin style-stigma explants cultured in the presence of N (6)-benzylaminopurine (BAP) cytokinin and three synthetic phenylurea derivatives, N-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N-phenylurea (4-CPPU), N-phenyl-N'-benzothiazol-6-ylurea (PBU) and N,N'-bis-(2,3-methilendioxyphenyl)urea (2,3-MDPU). The phenylurea derivative compounds tested at micromolar level (12 muM) were able to induce a percentage of responsive explants significantly higher from that obtained with BAP and hormone-free (HF) conditions. In order to verify the genetic stability of the regenerants, 27 plants coming from different embryogenic events were randomly selected from each different …
On Horn spectra
1991
Abstract A Horn spectrum is a spectrum of a Horn sentence. We show that to solve Asser's problem, and consequently the EXPTIME = ? NEXPTIME question it suffices to consider the class of Horn spectra. We also pose the problem whether or not the generator of every Horn spectrum is a spectrum. We prove that from a negative solution of the generator problem, a negative answer for the EXPTIME = ? NEXPTIME question follows. Some other relations between the generator problem and Asser's problem are given. Finally, the relativized version of the generator problem is formulated and it is shown that it has an affirmative solution for some oracles, and a negative solution for some others.
Haploinsufficiency of Tsc2 Leads to Hyperexcitability of Medial Prefrontal Cortex via Weakening of Tonic GABAB Receptor-mediated Inhibition.
2020
Abstract Loss-of-function mutation in one of the tumor suppressor genes TSC1 or TSC2 is associated with several neurological and psychiatric diseases, including autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). As an imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission, E/I ratio is believed to contribute to the development of these disorders, we investigated synaptic transmission during the first postnatal month using the Tsc2+/− mouse model. Electrophysiological recordings were performed in acute brain slices of medial prefrontal cortex. E/I ratio at postnatal day (P) 15–19 is increased in Tsc2+/− mice as compared with wildtype (WT). At P25–30, facilitated GABAergic transmission reduces E/I rati…
Hume’s guillotine and intelligent technologies
2021
AbstractEmerging intelligent society shall change the way people are organised around their work and consequently also as a society. One approach to investigating intelligent systems and their social influence is information processing. Intelligence is information processing. However, factual and ethical information are different. Facts concern true vs. false, while ethics is about what should be done. David Hume recognised a fundamental problem in this respect, which is that facts can be used to derive values. His answer was negative, which is critical for developing intelligent ethical technologies. Hume’s problem is not crucial when values can be assigned to technologies, i.e. weak ethic…
On finding common neighborhoods in massive graphs
2003
AbstractWe consider the problem of finding pairs of vertices that share large common neighborhoods in massive graphs. We prove lower bounds on the resources needed to solve this problem on resource-bounded models of computation. In streaming models, in which algorithms can access the input only a constant number of times and only sequentially, we show that, even with randomization, any algorithm that determines if there exists any pair of vertices with a large common neighborhood must essentially store and process the input graph off line. In sampling models, in which algorithms can only query an oracle for the common neighborhoods of specified vertex pairs, we show that any algorithm must …
Introduction to Homotopy Theory
2001
Consider two manifolds X and Y together with a set of continuous maps f, g,... $$ f:X \to Y,x \to f(x) = y;x \in X,y \in Y. $$
