Outcome of urgent and elective percutaneous coronary interventions after pharmacologic reperfusion with tenecteplase combined with unfractionated hep…
2003
Item does not contain fulltext OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to evaluate percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the Assessment of the Safety and Efficacy of New Thrombolytic Regimens (ASSENT-3) trial. BACKGROUND: In the ASSENT-3 trial, co-therapy with abciximab (ABC) or enoxaparin (ENOX) reduced ischemic complications after ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction treated with tenecteplase when compared with unfractionated heparin (UFH). The effect of these new co-therapies on the results of PCI is unknown. METHODS: Clinical outcomes in patients who received co-therapy with ABC, ENOX, or UFH and subsequently underwent an elective (n = 1,064) or urgent (n = 716) PCI in the ASSEN…
Plaque and blood vulnerability in ST segment elevation myocardial infarction patients: association between lesion morphology using intravascular ultr…
2013
AIM The purpose of the study was to evaluate associations between iMap intravascular ultrasound tissue characterization of culprit and nonculprit lesions in infarct-related artery and plasma biomarkers during ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and at 10-month follow-up. METHODS AND RESULTS Sixty-three STEMI patients at the time of index hospitalization and 10-month follow-up underwent coronary angiography and intravascular ultrasound with iMap tissue characterization of the culprit artery. Proximal and culprit segments were analyzed. A higher percentage of necrotic tissue in the nonculprit segment was found in patients in the top soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (sI…
Therapeutic Application of 20-kHz Transcranial Ultrasound in an Embolic Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion Model in Rats
2007
Background and Purpose— Therapeutic application of diagnostic ultrasound has been shown to improve recanalization rates in patients with acute cerebral vessel occlusion. There is experimental evidence that low-frequency ultrasound may be superior. This study was designed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of low-frequency ultrasound in an embolic middle cerebral artery occlusion model in rats. A parameter setting was used that had not previously shown any side effects and interactions with healthy rat brain tissue. Methods— Male Wistar rats were submitted to middle cerebral artery clot embolism and transcranial treatment with 20-kHz continuous-wave ultrasound (0.2 W/cm 2 ), ei…
Post-transcriptional analysis of rat mitochondrial D-3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase control through development and physiological stages.
1991
Abstract The nuclear encoded mitochondrial D -3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (BDH) is synthesized in the cytosal as a larger precursor. This membrane enzyme which requires lecithin for activity plays an essential role in energy metabolism as a ketone bodies-converting enzyme. A cDNA clone of the rat liver enzyme encompassing an antigenic determinant peptide has been isolated after immunoscreening of a λ gt11 expression library. The nucleotide sequence of this 279-base cDNA insert contains a single open reading frame of 93 amino-acids, which represents about a third of the mature enzyme. Amino-acid sequence analysis predicts a hydrophobic stretch of 29 amino-acids long which probably functi…

Riociguat versus sildenafil on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction and ventilation/perfusion matching
2017
Introduction Current treatment with vasodilators for pulmonary hypertension associated with respiratory diseases is limited by their inhibitory effect on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) and uncoupling effects on ventilation-perfusion (V'/Q'). Hypoxia is also a well-known modulator of the nitric oxide (NO) pathway, and may therefore differentially affect the responses to phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors and soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC) stimulators. So far, the effects of the sGC stimulator riociguat on HPV have been poorly characterized. Materials and methods Contraction was recorded in pulmonary arteries (PA) in a wire myograph. Anesthetized rats were catheterized to record …
Recanalization Therapies in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Impact of Prior Treatment With Novel Oral Anticoagulants on Bleeding Complications and Out…
2015
Background— We explored the safety of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) or intra-arterial treatment (IAT) in patients with ischemic stroke on non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs, last intake <48 hours) in comparison with patients (1) taking vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) or (2) without previous anticoagulation (no-OAC). Methods and Results— This is a multicenter cohort pilot study. Primary outcome measures were (1) occurrence of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) in 3 categories: any ICH (ICH any ), symptomatic ICH according to the criteria of the European Cooperative Acute Stroke Study II (ECASS-II) (sICH ECASS-II ) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke …
Amplification of ETS2 oncogene in acute nonlymphoblastic leukemia with t(6;21;18).
1992
Cytogenetic and molecular studies in a case of acute nonlymphoblastic leukemia (ANLL) are reported in this paper. Bone marrow blasts carried a hypodiploid karyotype with a complex t(6;18;21)(6qter----6p21::21q22----21qter;18qter ----18p11::6p22----6pter; 21pter----21q22::6p21----6p22::18p11----18pte r) and other numerical and structural changes. We studied the organization and the expression of the ETS2 gene which is located on chromosome 21 in order to investigate its possible involvement in the disease. DNA analysis showed a 20-fold amplification of ETS2 sequences; an increase of 3- to 4-fold in the mRNAs level compared to normal was shown by Northern hybridization.
The genomic and clinical landscape of fetal akinesia
2020
International audience; Fetal akinesia has multiple clinical subtypes with over 160 gene associations, but the genetic etiology is not yet completely understood. Methods: In this study, 51 patients from 47 unrelated families were analyzed using next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques aiming to decipher the genomic landscape of fetal akinesia (FA).Results: We have identified likely pathogenic gene variants in 37 cases and report 41 novel variants. Additionally, we report putative pathogenic variants in eight cases including nine novel variants. Our work identified 14 novel disease-gene associations for fetal akinesia: ADSSL1, ASAH1, ASPM, ATP2B3, EARS2, FBLN1, PRG4, PRICKLE1, ROR2, SETBP1…
