Previous research has evidenced the link between body image dissatisfaction, social anxiety, low self-esteem, negative affect and eating disorders in adolescence. The present study aimed to explore the gender differences on body image perception, self-esteem, and relational styles in a group of adolescents and to investigate whether body image and self-esteem predict the development of interpersonal problems in a different way for males and females. Lo scopo del presente lavoro è analizzare l’adattamento alla gravidanza e al ruolo genitoriale in adolescenza, presentando una panoramica delle recenti ricerche che ne hanno approfondito le conseguenze sullo sviluppo di madre e bambino. Muovendo dal rilievo dei costi psicosociali della genitorialità precoce, sono descritti, inoltre, i programmi di prevenzione che possono ridurre l’iniziazione ai comportamenti sessuali, aumentare l’uso dei contraccettivi e diminuire le gravidanze precoci nelle adolescenti e alcune strategie di intervento a sostegno della genitorialità, finalizzate a rafforzare la rete di protezione nei confronti delle giovani mamme.

La investigación explora la relación entre sexismo y la distorsión en mitos del amor romántico en adolescentes que residen en Centros de Acogida de Menores en Valencia (España). El diseño de investigación fue descriptivo transversal con una muestra de 147 adolescentes. Los resultados reflejan una relación estadísticamente significativa que indica que, a mayor sexismo en los y las adolescentes, mayores son las distorsiones románticas. Time and Gender Influence in Sexual Behavior of Romanian Adolescents

Abstract Our study tries to establish if the young generation starts sexual activity earlier, under mass media and social pressure, and if the gender is a relevant influence factor in this context. A questionnaire-based survey was developed in order to evaluate the potential relationship between psychological traits and behavior implying risk for people health. The questionnaire was distributed and we received valid responses from a number of 1,364 people (536 male and 828 female). Using SPSS one way ANOVA we found a significant difference determinate by gender regarding the age of sexual activity start.
