Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας ήταν να διερευνηθούν οι επιδράσεις ορισμένων συμπεριφορών υγείας, όπως η άσκηση, το κάπνισμα και η κατανάλωση αλκοόλ στην ποιότητα ζωής ενηλίκων που βρίσκονται σε εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία. Το δείγμα της έρευνας ήταν 363 ενήλικες, (Μ.Ο. ηλικίας = 41.86, Τ.Α. = 11.42 έτη) που παρακολουθούσαν προγράμματα επιμόρφωσης, σε Κέντρο Εκπαίδευσης Ενηλίκων (ΚΕΕ). Χρησιμοποι- ήθηκαν ερωτηματολόγια για να καταγραφούν το κάπνισμα σε καθημερινή βάση, η κατανάλωση αλκοόλ σε εβδομαδιαία βάση, καθώς και η φυσική δραστηριότητα. Stories of professional development in physiotherapy education

This study examines graduating physiotherapy students’ narratives related to their professional development. The data comprised interviews with 33 graduating physiotherapy students. The data were analyzed using the narrative analysis approach. As a result, five different story models were identified. The descriptive story models were named: 1) “Study path dominated by life changes”; 2) “Realizing the connection between physiotherapy theory and practice”; 3) “Self-regulated and practical-oriented learning path”; 4) “Becoming a critical developer”; and 5) “Multiprofessional working towards expertise”. Tässä tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin siivoojien työhyvinvointia ja työmotivaatiota siivoojien itsensä kokemana, heidän omista näkökulmista käsin. Working while studying: does it lead to greater attachment to the regional labour market?

This chapter studies the link between working while studying and migration. Understanding this link is important because policy-makers are often calling for actions that would cut down the hours students spend on working to shorten the graduation time. The chapter’s analysis focuses on graduates from Finnish universities, polytechnics and vocational schools in 1991–2004. It uses rich register-based longitudinal microdata constructed by Statistics Finland, and find a negative relationship between working while studying and graduate migration. An increase in student employment can thus partly explain the decline in geographic mobility among Finnish graduates from higher education.

The article traces the evolution of the publishing practice in the field of translations undertaken by Alberto Mondadori after the Second World War. Through some letters of the publisher to his collaborators, the analysis highlights the nature of his choices, which were often motivated not only by the desire to publish complete works, but also by personal and political reasons, such as the desire of self‑affirmation, to introduce himself as a “new publisher in a new era”, in clear antithesis with the past.

Abstract Background This paper proposes a novel approach to the development of competence-oriented higher education, a national transformation aimed at harmonising and digitising undergraduate medical and dental education in Finland. Methods We apply phenomenography as a viable qualitative method for medical education research. To better understand medical teachers’ expectations towards the change in the educational paradigm, we need to study teachers’ experiences of the current practices in undergraduate medical and dental education.
