Bakalaura darba mērķis ir pārbaudīt ekspresēto un attīrīto ApMV un CMV CP N-gala sajūgtos domēnus ar eGFP dimerizācijas-oligomerizācijas īpašības, kas varētu turpmāk tikt izmantotas imunizācijas eksperimentiem. Darba gaitā tika izveidotas trīs konstrukcijas, kur CP N-terminālie domēni tika ģenētiski savienoti ar eGFP modeļproteīnu un sešu histidīnu atkārtojumiem sajūgto proteīnu attīrīšanai. Sajūgtie proteīni tika noekspresēti un, attīrīti ar afīno hromatogrāfiju. Nukleīnskābes kustīguma nobīdes eksperimenti parādīja, ka ar Zn2+ audzētam nApMV-eGFP ir augstāka afinitāte pret CP mRNS un PCR, nekā audzētam bez Zn2+. A large-scale sequencing analysis of the Hemiptera Acyrthosiphon pisumexpressed sequence tags corresponding to about 12,000 unique transcripts is described, along with an in silico profiling analysis that identifies 135 aphid tissue-specific transcripts.
Diffusion of Drone Journalism: the Case of Finland, 2011-2020

This article details Finnish news organizations’ adoption of drones for journalistic purposes from 2011 to 2020. The theoretical starting point of the article is Rogers’ (1962) diffusion of innovations theory, which explains how new ideas and technologies spread in societies. The main empirical data for the study were derived from a phone survey conducted among the 80 most popular newspapers in Finland. The findings reveal that drone journalism in Finland has already diffused from a few pioneering organizations to a large number of newsrooms, including regional, mid-sized newspapers. ABSTRACT Several expressed sequence tags (ESTs) with homology to chitin deacetylase-like protein (CDA) were selected from a group of Helicoverpa armigera genes whose expression changed after infection with H. armigera single nucleopolyhedrovirus (HearNPV). Some of these ESTs coded for a midgut protein containing a chitin deacetylase domain (CDAD). The expressed protein, HaCDA5a, did not show chitin deacetylase activity, but it showed a strong affinity for binding to chitin. Purpose: Articular cartilage has limited repair capacity. Two different implant devices for articular cartilage regeneration were tested in vivo in a sheep model to evaluate the effect of subchondral bone anchoring for tissue repair. Methods: The implants were placed with press-fit technique in a cartilage defect after microfracture surgery in the femoral condyle of the knee joint of the sheep and histologic and mechanical evaluation was done 4.5 months later. The first group consisted of a biodegradable polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffold with double porosity. Abstract Background ESTs or variable sequence reads can be available in prokaryotic studies well before a complete genome is known. Use cases include (i) transcriptome studies or (ii) single cell sequencing of bacteria. Without suitable software their further analysis and mapping would have to await finalization of the corresponding genome.
