The aim of this research case is to shed some empirical light on the effects of participatory practices from the perspective of Sen’s capability approach in a Finnish social enterprise. Using a mixed method approach we explore how participatory practices build social inclusion by enabling both company’s employees and customers to engage in social agency. The case study findings articulate the importance of participatory practices to employees’ perceptions of meaningfulness of life and being able to meet customers (who are mentally disabled) needs on the one hand and customers’ experience of information sharing and feedback giving to the employees and helping other customers. peerReviewed

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kuvata yksittäisen tapauksen kautta sosiaalisten tilanteiden pelon syntyä, merkitystä yksilön elämään ja mahdollisia selviytymiskeinoja. Työn tarkoituksena oli tuoda esiin niitä kokemuksia, joita sosiaalisten tilanteiden pelon kanssa elävä kokee. Tutkimus oli luonteeltaan laadullinen tapaustutkimus. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin yhdeltä sosiaalisten tilanteiden pelkoa kokeneelta mieheltä. Aineistonkeruumenetelmänä käytettiin teemahaastattelua, joka toteutettiin yksilöllisesti haastateltavan kotona. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisesti teemoittelun avulla. Concurrent exercise and metformin administration may reduce the acute and chronic effects of exercise on glucose metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, several studies suggest that combing metformin and exercise treatment may have no additive effect and even cause adverse effects in T2D patients. The purpose of this thesis was to identify technical determinants of elite level air rifle and biathlon standing shooting performance and investigate how these technical determinants are affected by training, competition situation, or intense exercise. Forty international and national level air rifle shooters and 17 biathletes participated in the studies. In air rifle shooting, shooting performance, aiming point trajectory, and postural balance were measured from each shot in a simulated competition series in the training situation and in the actual competition situation. Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena on selvittää, miten pakolaistaustaiset nuoret huomioidaan koulutuksen normiohjauksessa Suomessa. Tutkimuksen keskiössä ovat koulutuksellinen tasa-arvo, koulutusasteiden väliset nivelvaiheet sekä koulutuksen yhteiskunnalliset tehtävät opetussuunnitelmien perusteiden valossa. Tarkasteluni kattaa kaikki koulutusasteet perusopetuksesta korkeakoulutukseen sekä nivelvaiheiden ja kotoutumisen koulutukset. Aineisto koostuu keskeisistä koulutuksen normiohjauksen asiakirjoista, eli laeista, asetuksista ja opetussuunnitelmien perusteista.
