Tin(IV) and organotin(IV) complexes containing mono or bidentate N-donor ligands

1998

Abstract A series of adducts of the type [(L # ) y R n SnX 4− n ]· z H 2 O (L # =1-methylimidazole, y =1 or 2, R=Me, Et, Bu n or Ph, n =1, 2 or 3, X=Cl, Br or I, z =0, 1/2 or 1) has been characterized in the solid state and in solution by analyses, spectral (IR, 119 Sn Mossbauer, and 1 H, 13 C and 119 Sn NMR) data and conductivity measurements. The molecular weight determinations and the NMR data indicate that these organotin(IV) complexes partly dissociate in chloroform and acetone solution. The donor L # interacts with [(CH 3 ) 3 SnNO 3 ], yielding the 2:1 ionic complex [(L # ) 2 (CH 3 ) 3 Sn]NO 3 . The derivative [(L # ) 2 (CH 3 ) 2 SnCl 2 ] reacts with NaClO 4 , AgNO 3 , NaBPh 4 and KSC…

Benzothiazolethione complexes of coinage metals: from mononuclear complexes to clusters and polymers

2019

Abstract The reactions of 2(3H)-benzothiazolethione (Hbtt) with [AuCl(tetrahydrothiophene)] and CuBr2 were studied, and found to yield a tetranuclear cluster compound [Au(btt)]4 [1] and a polymeric structure [CuBr(btt-btt)]n.nTHF (2). Crystallographic and spectroscopic methods were used for the characterization. In 1, the monoanionic ligand acted as a bidentate bridging N,S-donor giving a molecular cluster structure of an asymmetric coordination isomer. In the formation of 2, the ligand was dimerized by forming a S–S bond after deprotonation, and coordination via nitrogen donors to metal atoms took place leading to a polymeric structure. To clarify the diversity of reactions of Hbtt with co…

Exchange Coupling Mediated by N–H···Cl Hydrogen Bonds: Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Frustrated Magnetic System in Bis(o-phenylenediamine…

2012

The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic P2(1)/c space group with a = 11.2470(3) A, b = 5.9034(2) A, c = 12.0886(3) A, β = 115.143(1)°, and V = 726.58(4) A(3) and consists of discrete monomeric NiCl(2)(o-phenylendiamine)(2) molecules. Each o-phen ligand coordinates in a bidentate mode with the chloride ions occupying trans positions in the resulting tetragonally distorted octahedral coordination sphere. Two discrete sets of N-H···Cl hydrogen bonds link the octahedral molecules into a two-dimensional network, with type 1 interactions linking adjacent monomers along the c axis and type 2 interactions linking monomers along the diagonals in the bc plane. Analysis of the magnetic data …

Mössbauer studies on tin(IV) and organotin(IV) diacetylbis(benzoylhydrazone) complexes

1974

Abstract The Mossbauer parameters of Ph 2 SnDB, PhClSnDB and Sn(DB) 2 were determined, where DB 2− is the dianion of the multidentate ligand diacetylbis(benzoylhydrazone). According also to data treatment with the point charge model formalism, the configurations of Ph 2 Sn IV and PhSn IV derivatives appear to be essentially octahedral, with linear CSnC and CSnCl skeletons. As to Sn(DB) 2 , it appears that the electrical charge density at the Sn IV nucleus has a cubic symmetry, which is consistent with both tetrahedral and octahedral configurations around Sn IV .

Ferromagnetic Coupling in “Double-Bridged” Dihydrogenpyrophosphate Complexes of Cobalt(II) and Nickel(II)

2015

Three isostructural compounds of the formula {[M(bipy)(H2O)(H2P2O7)]2·2H2O} [bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine; M = Ni (1), Co (2), Mn (3)] have been isolated from aqueous solutions containing the corresponding metal(II) chloride hydrate with a bipy and sodium pyrophosphate solution in a 1:1:2 molar ratio, and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structures of 1-3 consist of neutral aqua(2,2'-bipyridine)metal(II) dinuclear units bridged by two dihydrogenpyrophosphate groups adopting a bidentate/monodentate mode. Each metal ion in 1-3 is six-coordinate in a distorted octahedral geometry, with the reduced value of the angle subtended by the chelating bipy at the meta…

Manganese(II) complexes with croconate and 2-(2-pyridyl)imidazole ligands: Syntheses, X-ray structures and magnetic properties

2009

Abstract The mixed-ligand complexes of manganese(II) of formula [Mn(pyim)2(C5O5)] (1) and [Mn(pyim)(H2O)(C5O5)]n · 2.5nH2O (2) [pyim = 2-(2-pyridyl)imidazole and C 5 O 5 2 -  = croconate (dianion of 4,5-dihydroxy-4-cyclopentene-1,2,3-trione)] have been prepared and their structures determined by X-ray crystallographic methods. Compound 1 is a tris-chelated mononuclear complex where the manganese atom is six-coordinate: four nitrogen atoms from two pyim molecules and two oxygen atoms from a croconate group build a somewhat distorted octahedral surrounding around the metal atom. The resulting neutral mononuclear units are linked to each other through double bridges which are constituted by th…
