Dual attachment pairs in categorically-algebraic topology

[EN] The paper is a continuation of our study on developing a new approach to (lattice-valued) topological structures, which relies on category theory and universal algebra, and which is called categorically-algebraic (catalg) topology. The new framework is used to build a topological setting, based in a catalg extension of the set-theoretic membership relation "e" called dual attachment, thereby dualizing the notion of attachment introduced by the authors earlier. Hard cap espresso extraction and liquid chromatography determination of bioactive compounds in vegetables and spices

Abstract A new analytical procedure, based on liquid chromatography with diode array and fluorescence detection, has been proposed for the determination of bioactive compounds in vegetables and spices after hard cap espresso extraction. This novel extraction system has been tested for the determination of capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin from fresh chilli and sweet pepper, piperine from ground pepper, curcumin from turmeric and curry, and myristicin from nutmeg. Extraction efficiency was evaluated by using acetonitrile:water and ethanol:water mixtures. The proposed method allows the extraction of samples with 100 mL of 60% (v/v) ethanol in water. Abstract Let L be a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero and let I be the T-ideal of polynomial identities of the adjoint representation of L. We prove that the number of multilinear central polynomials in n variables, linearly independent modulo I, grows exponentially like ( dim L ) n {(\dim L)^{n}} .

At least since Habousch’s proof of Kempf’s vanishing theorem, Frobenius splitting techniques have played a crucial role in geometric representation theory and algebraic geometry over a field of positive characteristic. In this article we survey some recent developments which grew out of the confluence of Frobenius splitting techniques and tight closure theory and which provide a framework for higher dimension geometry in positive characteristic. We focus on local properties, i.e. singularities, test ideals, and local cohomology on the one hand and global geometric applicatioms to vanishing theorems and lifting of sections on the other.

Development and technology maturation of Silicon Carbide (SiC) power transistors over the last 15 years has motivated its study in aerospace systems. Abstract The low cost electrodeposition method was used to grow Cu2O thin films and experimentally determine the optimal absorber layer thickness. Raman scattering studies indicate the presence of solely crystalline Cu2O and SEM images show that the thin films consist of grains with a pyramidal shape. The influence of the thickness of the light absorbing Cu2O layer on the basic characteristic of the heterojunction and their properties have been investigated using reflectivity, current–voltage (J–V), capacitance–voltage (C–V) and the external quantum efficiency (EQE) measurements. Temperature Dependent Suns-V<inf>oc</inf> of Multicrystalline Silicon Solar Cells from Different Ingot Positions

This paper presents temperature dependent Suns- Voc measurements on multicrystalline silicon cells originating from different ingot positions. The effective lifetime is found to increase for all cells when the temperature is increased from 25°C to 6°C. However, cells from the top of the ingot show a considerably larger increas 40–50% for illumination conditions of 0.1-1 Sun, compared to an increase of 20-30% observed for cells from the bottom. The decrease in Voc with increasing temperature is found to be lower for cells from the top of the ingot compared to cells from the bottom.
