Early childhood education (ECE) in Finland has developed in recent years and extensive reforms have taken place in both staffing and pedagogical content, but the ECE is facing a shortage of teachers. Previous research has highlighted the problems of social recognition, salary issues, and working conditions. The focus of this study is to identify the challenges teachers face in ECE and opportunities to increase the motivation for work. The research was conducted through survey that was answered by 469 teachers or former teachers. The transition from home care to early childhood education and care (ECEC) is a period of intense change and development in young children's socio-spatial worlds. This article focuses on infant–teacher lap interactions during this transition period. This investigation applies a relational approach to the study of infant–teacher lap interactions. In doing so, it highlights the inherently social and contextual nature of interaction. This study examined talk by parents about the early years transitions of their children (n = 7) in the context of parental non-standard working hours and Finnish early childhood education and care (ECEC) services. Parents were interviewed at three time points: when their child was aged one, four, five or six years (a total of 21 interviews). The third interview was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella oppilaiden vertaissuhteita, hyvinvointia ja kouluviihtyvyyttä, niissä tapahtuvia muutoksia oppilaiden siirtyessä alakoulusta yläkouluun sekä vertaissuhteiden yhteyttä hyvinvointiin ja kouluviihtyvyyteen. Tutkimukseen osallistuneet oppilaat (N=142, 88 tyttöä, 54 poikaa) täyttivät kyselylomakkeen kaksi kertaa: 6. luokalla (kevät 2008) ja siirryttyään 7. luokalle (syksy 2008). Oppilaiden vertaissuhteet kaverisuhteiden laadun osalta, itsetunto ja kouluviihtyvyys olivat hyviä niin ala- kuin yläkoulussa, minkä lisäksi yksinäisyyttä ja masennusoireita ei juuri havaittu. Project-Based Education Research Course Supports Exchange-students’ Research Minded Teacher Identity

Project-based education (PBE) gives possibilities for students to work together and feeling of belonging in a community even during distance learning. At the Department of Chemistry, University of Jyväskylä (JYU), a group of exchange students participated in a PBE chemistry teacher education research course online. The goal of the course was to enforce the connection between research on science teaching and acting sustainable in society. This study is based on semi-structured online group interview of the students after this PBE course. European authorities collaborate as a community toward a coherent approach of situational understanding and open trust base information sharing. Innovation in multi-stakeholder collaboration networks involve complex collaboration between user community members, providing cross-sector, cross-border and cross-authority interaction and information sharing for collaborative situation awareness, and cooperation to increase safety and security. This study analyses data consisting of elements of use cases, collected from EU funded innovation projects.
