Assessment of Occupational Health and Job Satisfaction in Workers with Intellectual Disability: A Job Demands–Resources Perspective
2021
In the contexts where people with intellectual disability work, there are factors that determine their job satisfaction. The objective of this study was to test the adequacy of the central assumptions of the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) theory in workers with intellectual disability employed in different work alternatives. Data from 362 workers in sheltered workshops and 192 workers in supported employment were utilized. The model was contrasted using a structural equation model and a multi-group analysis. The results supported the suitability of the model and confirmed that job demands and job resources evoke two relatively independent processes such as health impairment and motivational p…

Categories generated by thematic content analysis were compared with responsibility types. The findings show that responsibility is constructed by creating co-responsibility, taking individual responsibility, a…
Vuorovaikutus sairaalajohtoryhmien kokouksissa
2018
Kokoukset lienevät yleisin työelämän vuorovaikutuskäytänne ja siten organisoinnin keskeinen areena. Kokouksista on kirjoitettu lähinnä opaskirjallisuutta ja kokouksiin keskittyvä tutkimus on lisääntynyt vasta viime vuosina. Kokousteoreettinen jäsennys on kuitenkin edelleen vähäistä. Organisaation konstituointi tapahtuu vuorovaikutusprosesseissa.

Finnair competitive advantage through environmental responsibility
2011
Air transportation plays a vital role in many aspects of our every day life. Due to strong growth and the increasing amount of green house gases released, the aviation industry cannot be considered as operating sustainable. To change this all stakeholders of the aviation industry have to act. A special role hereby play the airlines as they can most directly influence the amount of green houses gases released e.g. by operating modern and fuel efficient aircraft. Offering flights that are producing less emissions has its price as e.g. acquiring modern aircraft can be very costly. At the same time competition between airlines is getting continually tougher forcing also established airlines to …

2015
The significance of having a positive environmental impact has rapidly been growing. More and more industries are beginning to identify and implement the ways in which they can be environmentally friendly. One such way is green procurement. In many developed countries where green public procurement is at the fore-front of procurement activities, many industries have implemented it, including the healthcare industry. In Kenya, a developing country in East Africa, sustainability is a well-known concept, with the country striving to achieve its Millennium Development Goals (of which certain goals on sustainability are included) by 2015. However, green procurement is not as widely developed as …
Western Australian students' alcohol consumption and expenditure intentions for Schoolies.
2016
In Australia, the immediate post-school period (known as ‘Schoolies’) is associated with heavy drinking and high levels of alcohol-related harm. This study investigated students’ intended alcohol consumption during Schoolies to inform interventions to reduce alcohol-related harm among this group. An online survey was administered to students in their senior year of schooling. Included items related to intended daily alcohol consumption during Schoolies, amount of money intended to be spent on alcohol over the Schoolies period, and past drinking behaviour. On average, participants (n=187) anticipated that they would consume eight standard drinks per day, which is substantially higher than t…
