Computational identification of chemical compounds with potential anti-Chagas activity using a classification tree

Chagas disease is endemic to 21 Latin American countries and is a great public health problem in that region. Current chemotherapy remains unsatisfactory; consequently the need to search for new drugs persists. Here we present a new approach to identify novel compounds with potential anti-chagasic action. A large dataset of 584 compounds, obtained from the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative, was selected to develop the computational model. Rescue operations are very critical and sensitive. Only one-second delay could make a serious difference between life and death. Therefore, the delay in rescue operations must be reduced as much as possible. The siren signal can be used to warn other vehicles nearby the ambulance. Implementing an embedded system to identify possible COVID-19 suspects using thermovision cameras

The main goal of this paper is to prove that by combining thermal vision cameras and image processing with many deep learning classification algorithms we developed an effective embedded system with high applicability in this critical period caused by COVID-19 pandemic disease. Using fixed and mobile thermal cameras we envisioned and developed a real time temperature screening capable of sending alarm signals over network or by SMS to local authorities along with multiple detection metrics such as the age, the gender, the facial emotion, the GPS location where the alarm went off, the temperature reading from the human face and also if the subject is wearing or not a medical face mask.

The objective of the survey was to evaluate the amount and type of emergencies attended during this period, as well as to know how they were solved, and what measures were adopted to carry out dental care in these exceptional circumstances. Soldiers are excited and patrol the surroundings of the source. The secretion per se does not induce ejection of additional secretion. Large workers of the second stage or older are massively attracted when tested in homogeneous groups. They focus their activities much more accurately than the soldiers around the source. A robust calibration methodology for an On-Board Diagnostic car system

New car models are now by law equipped with on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems aimed at monitoring the state of health of strategic components that ensure low levels of polluting exhaust emissions. During development phases, for each new car model, the OBD system must be finely calibrated. This article presents a robust calibration methodology taking into account sources of variability mainly due to production process, operating, and environmental conditions. The methodology enables us to evaluate the false alarm and failure to detect risks intrinsically related to the adopted calibration. An application concerning an upstream oxygen sensor monitored by the OBD is presented.

Handset terminals must meet standard limits based in SAR measurements. This paper describes an scheme for automatic forest surveillance. A complete system for forest fire detection is firstly presented although we focus on infrared image processing. The proposed scheme based on infrared image processing performs early detection of any fire threat. With the aim of determining the presence or absence of fire, the proposed algorithms performs the fusion of different detectors which exploit different expected characteristics of a real fire, like persistence and increase.
