Pigmentazioni dentarie da clorexidina: una revisione critica

OBIETTIVI Obiettivo di questo lavoro è proporre una revisione critica della letteratura sulle pigmentazioni orali indotte dalla clorexidina, in particolare sul meccanismo di formazione delle pigmentazioni, sulla loro prevalenza, sui fattori che ne influenzano l’insorgenza e la gravità e sull’efficacia clinica del sistema antipigmentazione a base di sodio metabisolfito e di acido ascorbico (ADS). Peripapillary staphyloma associated with morning glory anomaly,

We report a patient with concomitant occurrence of peripapillary staphyloma and morning glory anomaly. The morning glory anomaly presented with an optic nerve head with oblique entrance, located on one side of the peripapillary staphyloma, giving an unusually asymmetric and previously undescribed appearance to the abnormality. The optical coherence tomography provided useful information about the shape and deepness of the peripapillary staphyloma and disclosed a retinal detachment not appreciated ophthalmoscopically.

Formation in solution, synthesis and crystal structure of μ-oxalatobis[bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amido] dicopper(II)

Abstract The compound μ-oxalatobis[bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amido] dicopper(II), [Cu 2 {(NCsH 5 CO) 2 N} 2 - (C 2 O 4 )] was synthesized and characterized by spectroscopy, EPR and diffraction methods. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 with cell constants: a =7.6793(6), b =9.238(2), c =10.007(2) A, α=83.80(1), β=68.37(1) and γ=69.44(1)°; V =617.7(3) A 3 , D (calc., Z =2)=1.80 g cm −3 , M r =667.6, F (000)=336, λ, (Mo Kα)=0.71069 A, μ (Mo Kα)=17.895 cm −1 and T =295 K. A total of 3587 data were collected over the range of 1 ⩽ θ ⩽ 30°; of these, 2391 (independent and with I⩾2σ( I )) were used in the structural analysis. Dinuclear and two- and three-dimensional gadolinium(III) complexes with mono- and dicarboxylate ligands: synthesis, structure and magnetic properties

Three new gadolinium(III) complexes with carboxylate ligands of formula [Gd2(ac)6(H2O)4]·2H2O (1), [Gd2(ac)2(fum)2(H2O)4]n (2) and [Gd2(ox)(fum)2(H2O)4]n·4nH2O (3) (ac = acetate, fum = fumarate and ox = oxalate) have been prepared and their structures determined by X-ray diffraction on single crystals. The structure of 1 is made up of discrete centrosymmetric di-µ-oxo(carboxylate acetate)digadolinium(III) units with an intramolecular Gd⋯Gd separation of 4.1589(3) A. The interaction of a polyazacyclophane ligand having an ethylamine pendant arm functionalized with an anthryl group (L), with the single-stranded polynucleotides polyA, polyG, polyU, and polyC as well as with the double-stranded polynucleotides polyA-polyU, poly(dAT)(2), and poly(dGC)(2) has been followed by UV/Vis titration, steady state fluorescence spectroscopy, and thermal denaturation measurements. In the case of the single-stranded polynucleotides, the UV/Vis and fluorescence titrations permit to distinguish between sequences containing purine and pyrimidine bases. DNA interaction of CuII, NiII and ZnII functionalized salphen complexes: studies by linear dichroism, gel electrophoresis and PCR.

The interaction of salphen-type NiII, CuII and ZnII complexes with native DNA was investigated by exploiting linear dichroism experiments. The NiII complex behaves as a typical intercalator, binding strongly and stiffening and unwinding the DNA. The strength of the DNA interaction is slightly weaker for the copper complex and much weaker for the zinc complex. Plasmid-DNA gel electrophoresis experiments indicated that while CuII and ZnII complexes do not induce the unwinding of supercoiled DNA, the NiII complex has a nuclease activity without the addition of external agents. Reaction of 3-amino-2-formylimidazo[l,2-a]pyridine with various aldehydes and ketones by Friedlander's methodology afforded an entry to dipyridoimidazole, tri(tetra)azacyclopenta[b]fluorene, tri(tetra)azabenzo[b]-fluorene and triazaindeno[2,1-b]phenanthrene derivatives. Intercalation with a synthetic oligodeoxynucleotide was examined.

Abstract The reaction of the half-sandwich alkyl complex [Y(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NCMe3)(CH2SiMe3)(THF)] with furan and thiophene gives metalation products [Y(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NCMe3)(μ-2-C4H3X)]2 (X=O, S) which are sparingly soluble in hydrocarbons due to the dimeric structure. Single crystal X-ray structure analysis of the 2-thienyl complex confirms a six-membered core with bridging sulfur atoms and trans-disposed amido-tetramethylcyclopentadienyl ligands. In contrast to THF and pyridine, 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) forms isolable, crystalline adducts [Y(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NCMe3)(2-C4H3X)(DME)].
