Gaschromatographisch-massenspektrometrische identifizierung der durch umsetzung von aminen mit isocyanaten gebildeten harnstoffderivate

1977

Abstract Gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric identification of urea derivatives formed by the reaction of amines with isocyanates N,N′-Di- and N,N′,N′-trisubstituted ureas constitute suitable derivatives for the gas chromatographic (GC) determination of primary and secondary amines. The GC identification of N- tert. -butyl-,N′,N′-alkyl urea derivatives presented in the first communication has been succesfully confirmed by mass spectrometry (MS) and mass fragmentometry. The reproduced mass spectra of six N- tert. -butyl-,N′,N′-alkyl ureas were interpreted according to the decomposition mechanisms of less complicated alkyl ureas known from the literature. Using combined GC-MS the detection…

Separation and determination of alkylglycosides by liquid chromatography with electrospray mass spectrometric detection

2007

The separation of alkylpolyglycosides by liquid chromatography with electrospray mass spectrometric detection, using either an alkylamide or a cyanopropyl column, and acetonitrile/water mixtures as mobile phases, was developed. Using the alkylamide column and isocratic elution, the alpha- and beta-epimers and ring isomers (pyranosides and furanosides) of the alkylmonoglycosides were resolved. The ring isomers were also resolved in a much shorter time using the cyanopropyl column with gradient elution. Using these columns, the isomers of the alkyldiglycosides and alkyltriglycosides were also partially resolved. The equilibration time was much shorter with the cyanopropyl column, which was se…

1999

Abstract The alkylation of the half-sandwich complex CpMoCl 2 ( η 4 -diene) (diene=C 4 H 6 , 2,3-Me 2 C 4 H 4 ) affords the first thermally stable 17-electron compounds containing Mo(III)–alkyl bonds.

Anomalous diffraction profiles of alkali-halide-alkali-cyanide mixed crystals.

1986

The x-ray diffraction profiles of four mixed alkali halides-alkali cyanides have been studied. At the threshold concentration where the systems change over from ferroelastic ordering to the glass state, the profiles are highly unusual. The diffracted intensity of transverse scans along the cubic axes follows $I\ensuremath{\sim}\mathrm{exp}(\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}|\ensuremath{\xi}|)$, where $\ensuremath{\xi}$ is the reduced wave vector, measured from the line center.

Morphology of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate room temperature ionic liquids

2008

The structural organization in selected room temperature ionic liquids, namely (a) butyl-, (b) hexyl- and (c) octyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, is investigated by means of X-ray diffraction. We find novel experimental evidences of the existence of a high degree of intermediate range order that is associated to nanoscale segregation of the alkyl chains into the charged matrix. The size of these structural heterogeneities depends linearly from the alkyl chain length. A similar behaviour had been observed in other systems, such as normal alcohols. The slope of such dependence provides hints on the nature of the structural organization of these segregated domains.

Carbazole synthesisviaanin situtrapping strategy with indolyl enol ethers

1994

Indolyl enol ethers, generated from the alkoxy(indolyl)carbenium tetra- fluoroborates (1) by treatment with sodium hydride, can be trapped with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate or N-phenylmaleimide to furnish the se- lectively functionalized carbazoles (3), (4), (5), (9), (10), and (13). In addition, the biaryl derivatives (6) and (11) are produced by a ring- opening reaction of the primarily formed Diels-Alder adduct. In the case of the biaryl derivative (6), an X-ray crystal structure analysis yields valuable information on constitutions and configurations in the biaryl series. The phenomenon of atropisomerism is discussed for this compound

On the behaviour of the (Z)-Phenylhydrazones of some 5-alkyl-3-benzoyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles in solution and in the gas phase: kinetic and spectrometric …

2008

Abstract Rate constants, k A,R , for the rearrangement of the ( Z )-phenylhydrazones ( 1a – e ) of a series of 5-alkyl-3-benzoyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles substituted at C(5) with linear alkyl chains of different length (from C 4 up to C 12 ) into the relevant 4-acylamino-2,5-diphenyl-1,2,3-triazoles ( 2a – e ) have been measured in dioxan/water in the base-catalyzed region (pS + 10.5–12.6). For each substrate log  k A,R are linearly related to pS + . The significant decrease of the slopes of these straight lines (from 0.96 down to 0.78) upon increasing the length of the linear alkyl chain at C(5) and that of the reactivity (down to 14–26%) upon increasing the substrate concentration suggest a decr…

Melt processing of hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene on the water surface

2011

A discotic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene, was oriented by slow cooling from the isotropic phase on a water surface as a film. For melt processing at low temperatures, an HBC derivative with long swallow-tailed alkyl side chains was chosen. The supramolecular organization in the resulting thin layer was investigated by electron microscopy. In high-resolution mode, the structural study showed large domains in which the columnar structures were oriented uniaxially with an edge-on arrangement of the hydrophobic molecules. The length of the stacks exceeded several hundred nanometers without obvious defects. The small-area analysis by TEM allowed the direct visualiz…

1983

The first dissociation constant of oligonuclear phenolic compounds consisting of one nitrophenol unit besides further alkyl phenol units (10 dinuclear, 15 trinuclear, 6 tetranuclear compounds, and 4 nitrophenols as model) was determined spectroscopically in water/methanol (50/50 by vol.) at 25°C. For the ortho-linked title compounds with the nitrophenol unit at the end of the molecule a decrease of pK1 is observed which becomes stronger with increasing chain length. The introduction of bulky groups in ortho-position of the dissociating phenolic unit, as well as at the opposite end of the molecule causes a further decrease of pK1. The lowest value is found for a p-nitrophenol unit in the mid…

Pressure dependence in the methyl vinyl ketone + OH and methacrolein + OH oxidation reactions: an electronic structure study.

2005

High-level electronic structure calculations were carried out for the study of the reaction pathways in the OH-initiated oxidations of methyl vinyl ketone (MVK) and methacrolein (MACR). For the two conformers of MVK (called synperiplanar and antiperiplanar), the addition channels of OH to the terminal and central carbon atom of the double bond dominate the overall rate constant, whereas the abstraction of the methyl hydrogen atoms has no significant kinetic role. In the case of MACR, only the antiperiplanar conformer is important in its reactivity. In addition, the lower Gibbs free energy barrier for MACR corresponds to the aldehydic hydrogen abstraction reaction, which will be somewhat mor…
