Formal synthesis of ent-Cephalotaxine using a one-pot Parham-aldol sequence

A short formal synthesis of ent-Cephalotaxine is achieved. The approach features a new Lewis acid mediated [2,3]-Stevens rearrangement of N-allylated prolineamide to generate a key quaternary stereogenic center. Additionally, a one-pot Parham–aldol sequence was developed to rapidly assembly two of the four rings in the cephalotaxine core. peerReviewed

The second chapter reviews the chemistry of natural products containing 1-azabicyclo[5.3.0]decane motifs. This bicyclic motif and the natural products related to it, have been a continuous source of synthetic inspiration over the last decades. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan yhtä live-tviittaamiseen liittyvää vuorovaikutuskäytännettä, televisiolle suunnattuja direktiivisiä tviittejä. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu jalkapallon MM-kisojen Ylen televisiolähetyksistä ja lähetysten aikana #ylemmfutis-aihetunnisteella lähetetyistä tviiteistä. Vaikka Twitterin kautta televisiokatsojat voivat kohdistaa viestejään paitsi toisilleen myös televisiolähetyksen osallistujille, on aiempi live-tviittaamiseen liittyvä tutkimus osoittanut, ettei televisiossa juuri vastata sille suunnattuihin viesteihin. In sports with different exercise-loading characteristics, acute and overuse injury profiles and gender differences in injuries were investigated. In addition, trainingrelated risk factors for overuse injuries in endurance athletes were studied. This twelve-month retrospective questionnaire study comprised Finnish elite crosscountry skiers (n=149), swimmers (n=154), long-distance runners (n=143) and soccer players (n=128) aged 15–35 years. Questionnaires were sent to the athletes in each sports at the end of the 2006 competition season. Työn kirjallisessa osassa käsitellään ketonien enantioselektiivistä pelkistystä entsyymeillä. Entsymaattiset reaktiot ovat kiinnostavia hyvän selektiivisyytensä ja ympäristöystävällisyytensä takia. Kaikki ketoneja pelkistävät entsyymit tarvitsevat toimintaansa nikotiiniamidikofaktoria NADH tai NADPH ja voivat yleensä katalysoida reaktioita sekä hapetus- että pelkistyssuuntaan. Kofaktoreita kierrätetään reaktioissa yleensä joko isopropanolia hapettamalla tai erillisellä entsyymillä, kuten glukoosidehydrogenaasilla.
