Supramolecular Aggregates in Vacuum: Positively Mono-Charged Sodium Alkanesulfonate Clusters

The formation and structural features of positively mono-charged aggregates of sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT) and sodium methane—(MetS), butane—(ButS) and octane—(OctS) sulfonate molecules in the gas phase have been investigated by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, energy-resolved mass spectrometry and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The experimental results show that the center-of-mass collision energy required to dissociate 50% of these mono-charged aggregates scantly depends on the length of the alkyl chain as well as on the aggregation number. The separation, characterization, and determination of mixtures of alkyl ether sulfates (AES) and fatty acids (C10-C16) in background electrolytes (BGEs) containing acetonitrile (ACN)-water mixtures is addressed. Due to inhibition of the ionization of the carboxylate groups, the migration time and the resolution between the fatty acids decreased when the water content of the BGE was reduced, but efficiency and resolution between the AES oligomers improved. The migration times increased and resolution improved by substituting 5% ACN by an equivalent amount of dioxane. Binary materials composed of the oxides SiO2, TiO2 and N-doped TiO2 and the Keggin heteropolyacid (PW12) were prepared and physicochemically characterized. They were used as catalysts and photocatalysts for the hydration of propene to 2-propanol. The characterization of the samples, particularly the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy results and the acidity properties, were useful to explain the key role played by the PW12 in the composite materials in the thermal and photoassisted catalytic processes. Tutkimuksessa selvitetään suomalaisten nuorisoseuratoimijoiden itsensä esittämää kysymystä siitä, toteutuvatko alkiolaiset nuorisoseuraihanteet nykyisessä nuorisoseuratoiminnassa. Ensimmäiset nuorisoseurat hakivat muotoaan 1900-luvun taitteessa, jolloin Santeri Alkio muotoili puuhamiehenä aatteen suuntaviivoja. Alkio pyrki kohottamaan nuorisoseurojen avulla alimpien kansankerrosten nuorison sivistystasoa ja tietoisuutta omasta yhteiskunnallisesta tilastaan. Tätä päämäärää kohti hän lähti kulkemaan nuorisoseuroissa toteutettavan itsekasvatuksen idean avulla. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai pastāv darba stresa saistība ar apreibinošo vielu lietošanu pavāriem. Darba ietvaros tika pētīti un apkopoti tādi zinātniskie raksti un pētījumi, kas pēc savas būtības apskata stresu, darba stresu, stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijas un alohola lietošanas paradumus, kā arī pavāra profesijas specifiskās īpatnības. Šī bakalaura darba ietvaros tika aptaujāti 60 respondenti, vecumā no 18 līdz 56 gadiem. 30 respondenti bija vīrieši un 26 bija sievietes. Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena on esittää tunnetuimmat alkulukutestit niin matemaattiselta perustoiltaan kuin käytännön toteutuksiltaan ohjelmakoodin muodossa. Alkulukutestit jaotellaan yleisesti deterministisiin ja probabilistisiin testeihin; deterministiset testit antavat täysin varman vastauksen, mutta ovat suurille luvuille huomattavasti probabilistia testejä hitaampia. Probabilistiset testit ovat nopeita tehdä, mutta saattavat antaa väärän vastauksen. Testien suoritusaikaa mitataan karkeasti niiden suorittamiseksi vaadittavien laskutoimitusten lukumääarällä. A multifunctional reagent based on a coumarin scaffold was developed for derivatization of naive RNA. The alkylating agent N3BC [7-azido-4-(bromomethyl)coumarin], obtained by Pechmann condensation, is selective for uridine. N3BC and its RNA conjugates are pre-fluorophores which permits controlled modular and stepwise RNA derivatization. The success of RNA alkylation by N3BC can be monitored by photolysis of the azido moiety, which generates a coumarin fluorophore that can be excited with UV light of 320 nm.
