Orthographic precision for word naming in skilled readers

Perfetti (2007) proposed that the quality of lexical representations affects reading. We investigated the role of lexical quality in decoding. Eighty-four adults read aloud words and pseudowords with dense and sparse neighbourhoods in a masked form-priming experiment. Individual-difference measures of language and cognitive processes were collected and entered into a principal component analysis (PCA). Compared to a non-overlapping control prime, we observed greater facilitatory form-priming for word targets with sparse neighbourhoods than those with dense neighbourhoods. This article discusses certain challenges relating to interagency collaboration between the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) and Child Welfare Services (CWS). We have asked what obstacles to holistic work with low-income families who receive measures from NAV and CWS simultaneously can be identified. The departure point is collaboration on a local project at the municipal level. The differences between the views of the individual services (and the mandates based on these views) with regard to parental obligations have proved challenging. Background Child poverty rates are rising in Norway with potential negative consequences for children. Services for families with low income are often fragmented and poorly integrated, and few coordinated initiatives have been implemented and evaluated in Norway. Due to an increasing digitalization of our society, there has grown forth a need to include more programming and digital technology in our schools. Masteroppgave i matematikkdidaktikk 2006 - Høgskolen i Agder, Kristiansand Denne masteroppgaven beskriver den matematiske skolehverdagen til elevene i en 2. klasse. Det legges vekt på elevenes bruk av skrift, muntlig språk og gestikulering under deres arbeid med matematiske oppgaver. En god del av elevenes arbeid i klasserommet tar utgangspunkt i hverdagsaktiviteter, som det er meningen at elevene skal bruke for å lage sine egne regnestykker. Observasjonene viser at elevene ikke alltid ser sammenhengen mellom aktivitetene og det matematiske skriftspråket.
