OBJECTIVE To assess the efficacy of the non-stimulant guanfacine extended release (GXR) on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms in children and adolescents, with and without comorbid oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). METHODS Data were derived from 4 phase 3, randomized, placebo-controlled trials of dose-optimized GXR monotherapy, in which at least 10% of participants had a diagnosis of comorbid ODD. SPD503-312 and SPD503-316 were 10- to 13-week studies of GXR (1-7 mg/d). SPD503-314 and SPD503-307 were 8-week studies of GXR (1-4 mg/d). Cosmic-ray muon flux at Canfranc Underground Laboratory

Residual flux and angular distribution of high-energy cosmic muons have been measured in two underground locations at the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (LSC) using a dedicated Muon Monitor. The instrument consists of three layers of fast scintillation detector modules operating as 352 independent pixels. The monitor has flux-defining area of 1 m${}^{2}$, covers all azimuth angles, and zenith angles up to $80^\circ$. The measured integrated muon flux is $(5.26 \pm 0.21) \times 10^{-3}$ m${}^{-2}$s${}^{-1}$ in the Hall A of the LAB2400 and $(4.29 \pm 0.17) \times 10^{-3}$ m${}^{-2}$s${}^{-1}$ in LAB2500. Free Space Optics (FSO) links are affected by several impairments: optical turbulence, scattering, absorption, and pointing. In particular, atmospheric optical turbulence generates optical power fluctuations at the receiver that can degrade communications with fading events, especially, in high data rate links. Il contributo parte dai materiali dell'archivio di Luigi Rognoni (1913-1986), oggi custoditi presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Umanistiche dell'Università di Palermo (dove egli insegnò dal 1958 al 1970) per ricostruire il fondamentale contributo che alla sua formazione diede la figura del filosofo Antonio Banfi. Fin dagli anni dell’opposizione al regime mussoliniano, quando ancora adolescente fu più volte arrestato e rilasciato, Rognoni ebbe una forte coscienza della responsabilità etica dell’intellettuale di fronte alla società e alla storia.
