Aquest article fa una elaboració de les dades de l’Enquesta sobre la situació social del valencià. 2004 referides a la transmissió intergeneracional del català. Primerament aquestes dades se situen en el context de tot el domini lingüístic (els Països Catalans) i després són analitzades, des d’una perspectiva territorial, al País Valencià. La recerca ens fa adonar-nos que, sociolingüísticament, hi podem distingir dues comunitats de parla diferents d’acord amb la vitalitat que mostra el català en cadascuna. The article deals with the different kinds of speakers that emerge when language transmission failure arises between consecutive generations. The case is exemplified through the speech community of the city of Alacant, where we can distinguish four kinds of speakers, from the ones who know very well the local variety of Catalan to the ones who only understand this variety and whose first language is Spanish. In between we have the main concern of our study, the precarious speakers, distributed in two categories according to their skill in the use of Catalan, which has become their second language.

AbstractHepatitis E Virus-like particles self-assemble in to noninfectious nanocapsids that are resistant to proteolytic/acidic mucosal delivery conditions. Previously, the nanocapsid was engineered to specifically bind and enter breast cancer cells, where successful tumor targeting was demonstrated in animal models. In the present study, the nanocapsid surface was modified with a solvent-exposed cysteine to conjugate monolayer protected gold nanoclusters (AuNC). Unlike commercially available gold nanoparticles, AuNCs monodisperse in water and are composed of a discrete number of gold atoms, forming a crystalline gold core. We investigated the evolution and epidemiology of a novel livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strain, which colonizes and infects urban-dwelling Danes even without a Danish animal reservoir. Genetic evidence suggests both poultry and human adaptation, with poultry meat implicated as a probable source.
