Background— Clinical trials in heart failure have focused on the improvement in symptoms or decreases in the risk of death and other cardiovascular events. Little is known about the effect of drugs on the risk of clinical deterioration in surviving patients. Sambucus nigra L. (Caprifoliaceae) is wide spread in temperate and sub-tropical zones. The consumption of its berries has been associated with health benefits especially for its high content of natural antioxidants such as polyphenols, in particular anthocyanins. In this work we investigated the polyphenolic composition and the in vitro antioxidant activities (ABTS, DPPH, BCB and FRAP-ferrozine (FRAP-FZ) assays) of S. nigra berries, collected in four different Sicilian areas (Italy). Attiecības ar nāvi paliatīvās aprūpes nodaļā: speciālistu perspektīva

Diplomdarba mērķis ir uzzināt PA nodaļā strādājošu speciālistu pieredzies un priekšstatus saistībā ar miršanu un nāvi un to, kādas speciālista attiecības ar nāvi šajās pieredzēs un priekšstatos atklājas. Mana konceptuālā perspektīva iekļauj 4 dimensijas speciālistu attiecībās ar nāvi: individuālā, sociālā, iemiesotā un telpiskā. Lauka darbā veicu 13 padziļinātas daļēji strukturētas intervijas vienā no Latvijas paliatīvās aprūpes nodaļu kolektīviem. Intervijās atklājās tas, ka speciālistu attiecības ar nāvi veido attiecības ar pacientiem, viņu tuviniekiem un kolēģiem. Speciālistu attiecības ar nāvi izpaužas arī paliatīvās nodaļas telpās un saistībā ar mirstošiem un mirušiem ķermeņiem.

Azapropazone binding to human serum albumin

Azapropazone, a new non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug, is strongly bound to human serum albumin. As revealed by Scatchard analysis, one high-affinity binding site with an association constant of about 1.2 x 10(6)M-1 and two low-affinity binding sites with association constants of about 0.05 x 10(6)M-1 were found. While the high-affinity binding site of azapropazone is clearly not identical with the diazepam or digitoxin binding sites of human serum albumin, contradictory evidence was found by optical measurements and displacement studies for the similarity of the azapropazone and the warfarin binding site of human serum albumin. Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt un novērtēt apgrozāmo līdzekļu uzskaiti un izmantošanas efektivitāti SIA „RILITA” un izstrādāt priekšlikumus konstatēto problēmu risināšanai. Darbā tiek pētīti apgrozāmie līdzekļi, to uzskaite un izmantošanas efektivitāte literatūras avotos un LR regulējumos no teorētiskā aspekta, novērtēti un analizēti SIA „RILITA” apgrozāmie līdzekļi, to uzskaite un izmantošanas efektivitāte. Darba izstrādes laikā autore konstatēja SIA „RILITA” vairākas problēmas – zemi finanšu rādītāji un apgrozāmo līdzekļu izmantošanas efektivitātes rādītāji, gada pārskata sastādīšanas noteikumu neatbilstība un citas, kā ari izstrādāja priekšlikumus to uzlabošanai.

The essential oils composition of the skin, pulp and seeds from fruits of two Sicilian cultivars of Opuntia ficus-indica (cv. Sanguigna and cv. Surfarina has been obtainedby hydrodistillation and the possible semiochemical roles have been investigated comparing the data with those reported in the literature. La literatura documenta que los educadores físicos tienen actitudes pro-tecnológicas, interés y conocimientos similares al resto de profesorado. Sin embargo, el uso de TIC, especialmente en la fase activa es menor. Esta barrera de uso se explica porque el profesorado dispone de tecnología tradicional, anclada en espacios fijos, pero se carece de tecnología móvil y portable que pueda llevarse al lugar donde se sitúa la acción: patios y gimnasios.
