Prismatic adaption (PA) has been proposed as a tool to induce neural plasticity and is used to help neglect rehabilitation. It leads to a recalibration of visuo-motor coordination during pointing as well as to after-effects on a number of sensorimotor and attention tasks, but whether these effects originate at a motor or attentional level remains a matter of debate. Abstract In this paper, a probabilistic approach for the evaluation of the adaptation time for elastic perfectly plastic frames is proposed. The considered load history acting on the structure is defined as a suitable combination of quasi-statical loads and seismic actions. The proposed approach utilizes the Monte Carlo method in order to generate a suitable large number of seismic acceleration histories and for each one the related load combination is defined. Pētniecības darbs ‘‘Izgulējumu profilakse internās aprūpes nodaļā’’ tika veikts ar mērķi noskaidrot vai māsas pielieto profilakses pasākumus, lai samazinātu izgulējumu rašanos riskus. Pētniecības uzdevums bija apkopot un analizēt zinātnisko literatūru un citus informācijas avotus par izgulējumiem un to profilaksi, izstrādāt pētniecības instrumentu-anketu, anketēt internās aprūpes māsas, apkopot un analizēt pētījuma iegūtos rezultātus, izstrādāt secinājumus. Few studies examine relationships between intercultural strategies and adaptation among adolescents using a person-oriented approach. Framed from an intercultural psychology perspective, this study used such an approach in order to examine the influence of intercultural profiles, patterns of relationships among variables related to intercultural strategies, on the adaptation of adolescents of both non-dominant and dominant groups. Análisis de procesos inmunorreguladores en helmintiasis intestinales mediante el modelo Echinostoma caproni-ratón

En la presente Tesis Doctoral se analizan diferentes parámetros que intervienen en las interacciones parásito-hospedador en helmintiasis intestinales mediante el empleo del modelo experimental Echinostoma caproni-ratón ICR. Para ello, se realizan diferentes estudios en los que se analiza y compara la respuesta inmunitaria en infecciones primarias, asociadas a susceptibilidad, y secundarias, asociadas a resistencia. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que la susceptibilidad del ratón a la infección primaria con E. caproni se debe a su incapacidad de responder con producción de IL-25 lo cual determina que se genere una respuesta Th1 asociada a susceptibilidad. Symbiotic associations between animals and microbes are ubiquitous in nature, with an estimated 15% of all insect species harboring intracellular bacterial symbionts. Most bacterial symbionts share many genomic features including small genomes, nucleotide composition bias, high coding density, and a paucity of mobile DNA, consistent with long-term host association.
