Towards sustainable farming practices and food security: study about vulnerability of Finnish farms

The aim of this paper is to discuss food security in the context of sustainable farming practices in Finland. There are two research questions: 1) How are the Finnish farms vulnerable from the viewpoint of food security? 2) How could they increase their resilience for guaranteeing food security in the future? The paper is based on a qualitative study for which 15 Finnish food system specialists were interviewed in 2015. According to the results, three types of vulnerabilities are discovered: 1) market vulnerabilities, 2) continuity of farms, and 3) environment changes. Tiek uzskatīts, ka dziļās glikēšanas gala produktu (AGE) inhibitoriem ir terapeitisks potenciāls pacientiem, kuriem ir ar vecumu saistītas slimības, piemēram, diabēts, neirodeģenerācija, ateroskleroze. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis bija izpētīt fenolskābju galluskābes, hlorogēnskābes un polifenolu rutīna un kvercetīna ietekmi uz AGE veidošanos in vitro. AGE inhibīcijas īpašības tika pētītas in vitro, izmantojot divas modeļu sistēmas: liellopu seruma albumīns ar metilglioksālu un liellopu seruma albumīns ar glikozi. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja stosowanych bodźców pozacenowych w umowach rolnych, które mogłyby potencjalnie skłaniać agenta do działania zgodnego z interesem kontraktora. Zastosowanie tego typu zachęt może potencjalnie minimalizować problem pokusy nadużycia ze strony agenta jeszcze w trakcie jej obowiązywania, tj. w trakcie produkcji rolnej. Dla realizacji założonego celu wykorzystano badanie własne z użyciem ankiety. Polyphenols and Pharmacological Screening of a Monarda fistulosa L. dry Extract Based on a Hydrodistilled Residue By-Product

This study aimed to determine the composition and content of polyphenols in the dry extract obtained from the hydrodistilled residue by-product of the wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa L., Lamiaceae Martinov family) herb (MFDE) and to evaluate its safety and pharmacological properties. The total phenolic content (TPC) in the MFDE was 120.64 mg GAE/g. The high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis showed the presence of a plethora of phenolic compounds, including hydroxycinnamic acids and flavone derivatives in the MFDE, with rosmarinic acid and luteolin-7-O-glucoside being the main components.
