Dziesmas vārdu krājuma apguvei angļu valodas nodarbībās pirmsskolā

2017

Multimodal Aposematic Signals and Their Emerging Role in Mate Attraction

2018

Chemically defended animals often display conspicuous color patterns that predators learn to associate with their unprofitability and subsequently avoid. Such animals (i.e., aposematic), deter predators by stimulating their visual and chemical sensory channels. Hence, aposematism is considered to be “multimodal.” The evolution of warning signals (and to a lesser degree their accompanying chemical defenses) is fundamentally linked to natural selection by predators. Lately, however, increasing evidence also points to a role of sexual selection shaping warning signal evolution. One of the species in which this has been shown is the wood tiger moth, Arctia plantaginis, which we here put forward…

From ‘no dogs here!’ to ‘beware of the dog!’ : restricting dog signs as a reflection of social norms

2019

Signs in public space reflect ‘normalcy’ in a community. The authors ask what restricting signs tell us about a society? In order to explore the system and variation in the ways dog signs manifest different norms and control, they compare two different data sets: dog signs in a Northern European town, Jyväskylä in Finland, and two Eastern European villages in Romania. They apply a qualitative methodology based on visual communication, geosemiotics and linguistic landscape studies. The focus of the article is on the resources of addressing and the visual semiotics of the image. The investigated communities seem to create a complementary distribution of what they regulate that is also displa…

Paschalna chrystologia Wacława Hryniewicza

2016

Waltera Kaspera przedstawiono kilka istotnych założeń i cech chrystologii Wacława Hryniewicza. Źródła artykułu ograniczono do jego paschalnej trylogii: Chrystus nasza Pascha (1982), Nasza Pascha w Chrystusie (1987), Pascha Chrystusa w dziejach człowieka i wszechświata (1991). Głęboko biblijne, teologiczno-historycznie i ekumenicznie rozważania starały się pokazać, że paschalna chrystologia Hryniewicza unika niebezpieczeństwa jednostronnych ujęć różnych kierunków chrystologii kerygmatyczno-dogmatycznej, jak i chrystologii ukierunkowanych wyłącznie na Jezusa historycznego. Paschalna chrystologia zdaje…

System wczesnego ostrzegania w zarządzaniu projektami jako narzędzie wspomagania osiągania sukcesu projektu

2020

USING A X-BAND WEATHER RADAR FOR AN URBAN AREA EARLY WARNING SYSTEM AND THE STUDY OF PRECIPITATION DYNAMICS.

2014

The development and availability of X-band radar instruments occurred in the last years, provides the scientific community of an important tool for the study, the characterization and the operational usage of detailed precipitation information. The hydrology laboratory of the Department of Civil, Environmental, Aerospace Engineering, and Materials (DICAM) at the University of Palermo, has installed a X-band weather radar in the urban area of Palermo (Italy) along with a set of advanced auxiliary instruments that help on exploiting the precipitation information. A raingauge network of 18 tipping bucket gauges spread over the observed area is available for the calibration of precipitation map…

Music adviser : emotion-driven music recommendation ecosystem

2017

In respect of the big amounts of music available in the web, people met the problem of choice. From another side, practically unlimited resources can bring us new opportunities in the music context. Efficient data management engines which are smart and self managed are in demand nowadays in the music industry to handle music sources amounts of which are coming towards to infinity continuously. This study demonstrates feasibility of the emotional based personalization of music recommendation system. There is still gap between human and artificial intelligence, robotics do not have intuition and emotions which represent critical point of recommendations. Taking into account significant influe…

First Stages of Adult Students Relationship to Scientific Knowing and Research in the Open University's Web-Based Methodology Course

2016

The adult students who participate in the web-based studies of the open university have in many ways heterogeneous starting points for studying and learning, for example, the educational backgrounds, the acquired work experience, the general academic skills and the objectives of the future can vary considerably. The adult students striving from the different starting points pursue their own individual objectives and the set educational dimensions of the academic education. In the academic adult education, individuality and the adult student's autonomy are emphasized and at the same time, diverse knowledge, skills and understanding are sought after. One key objective of the higher education …
