Orbitale Manifestation der IgG4-assoziierten Erkrankung: eine Fallserie

2019

Assessment of Usability of Thermal Bicarbonate Mineral Water from the “Odra-5/I” Intake in Grabin Opole Silesia (SW Poland) for Therapeutic and Proph…

2020

Thermal bicarbonate mineral water belong to sought-after balneological resources. This kind of water are a balneological product and valuable raw material used in health resorts for the wider health strategy - prophylaxis and recreation. The discovery of thermal bicarbonate mineral water in Grabin near Opole in 1983 was purely incidental when a intake was made for the recognition of the geological structure of the crystalline basement of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sediments. Thermal bicarbonate mineral water existing in Grabin can be found in the Fore-Sudetic block and is a unique phenomenon. Its chemical composition, and especially high total mineral salt content of the waters from Grabin, indi…

SAT0025 THE EFFECT OF DIMETHYL FUMARATE ON PLASMABLAST DIFFERENTIATION TRANSCRIPTIONAL PROGRAMMES IN SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS

2019

Background: Dimethyl fumarate (DMF), is an immunomodulatory drug approved for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Psoriasis. The exact mechanism of action of DMF is not entirely known. Anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects have been observed, including the upregulation of NRF-2, the inhibition of TIGAR and the block of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBEL3. Further evidence from MS patients suggests a modulation on B cell activation. Although beneficial effects of DMF have been observed in animal models of lupus nephritis and limited cases human cutaneous lupus, the effect of DMF on B cell maturation transcriptional programmes in systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) has …

New insights into the pathogenesis of giant cell arteritis

2017

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is an inflammatory chronic disease occurring exclusively in elderly individuals. Until recently, the disease has been considered a unique disease resulting from the interaction in the walls of susceptible arteries, between an unknown infectious agents with local dendritic cells (DCs), activated CD4 T cells and effector macrophages. Recent evidence has shown that this view was too simplistic and has clarified many of the pathogenetic aspects of the disease. Many genetic studies recently published have identified different new genes, including cytokines, adhesion molecules and regulators of innate immunity, as crucial players in the development and progression of GC…

AB1209 THE RHEUMA-BUS-TOUR: TWO WEEK OPEN-ACCESS SCREENING FOR EARLY RHEUMATIC DISEASES

2019

Background Early diagnosis is crucial for patients with rheumatic diseases. Studies show that early stage patients already show reduced mental and physical health [2, 3]. However, early diagnosis is often delayed due to the severe lack of rheumatologists in Germany. Objectives The cross-sectional study compares data on physical and mental health of known and suspected early rheumatic patients, collected from participants of the bus tour. Methods The Rheuma-Bus-Tour is an annual, two week open-access screening event in three states (Rhineland-Palatine, Saarland, Lower Saxony) that raises awareness for rheumatic diseases and identifies people with potential early cases of RA, SpA and PsA. All…

Physiopathologie des vascularites primitives des gros vaisseaux

2016

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) and Takayasu's arteritis (TA) are two granulomatous vasculitis affecting large arteries that present specific epidemiological and clinical features. Their pathogenesis is not fully understood but major advances have been obtained during the last years, thus allowing the emergence of new therapeutic strategies. GCA and TA develop on a specific genetic background but share some similarities regarding the immunological pathways involved in their pathogenesis. The trigger of these diseases is not clearly identified but it is thought that an infectious agent could activate and lead to the maturation of dendritic cells that are localized in the adventitia of arteries. T…
