Para ello se revisa la bibliografía más relevante sobre el tema, así como la documentación histórica, legal y política, describien do su historia desde sus orígenes y los nuevos caminos que se van trazando, en relación con el aumento de la accesibilidad a la documentación que gestionan y a las nuevas estrategias de difusión de la información entre la ciudadanía. During the coronavirus disease pandemic rising in 2020, governments and nongovernmental organizations across the globe have taken great efforts to curb the infection rate by promoting or legally prescribing behavior that can reduce the spread of the virus. At the same time, this pandemic has given rise to speculations and conspiracy theories. Conspiracy worldviews have been connected to refusal to trust science, the biomedical model of disease, and legal means of political engagement in previous research. It is a hitherto open and debated question whether the belief in conspiracies increases or attenuates the willingness to engage in political action. In the present article, we tested the notion, whether (a) the relation between belief in conspiracies and general political engagement is curvilinear (inverted U-shaped) and (b) there may be opposing relations to normative versus nonnormative forms of political engagement. Research on the dark side of social media usage has explored the fear of missing out (FoMO), social media fatigue (fatigue), social media stalking (stalking), and online social comparison (social comparison) independently. Accordingly, the complex interrelationships among these phenomena have remained understudied, creating a chasm that hinders a clearer understanding of their drivers and the potential counterstrategies to mitigate the collateral damage they may cause. There are some well-known critiques of social contract undertaken from the traditionalist, communitarian and Marxist perspectives. This article suggests a different, rationalist approach: the return to classical rationality. I show that the idea of the social contract has its basis in the mistaken modern assertions concerning human nature, identifying human beings as individuals moved by desires and the will to power, and the phenomenon of life as an endless conflict.
