Use of a collagen/elastin-membrane for the tissue engineering of dermis.

1999

In an experimental model in rats, xenogeneic membranes consisting of processed native collagen and elastin were grafted to serve as a template for the formation of a neo-dermis, while in vitro-cultured autogeneic keratinocytes were applied on top of this to restore an epidermis. The process of tissue reconstruction and the digestion of the grafted membrane components were analysed by histological and immunohistochemical methods as well as electron microscopy. Approximately 3 weeks post grafting the membranes were completely vascularised and colonized by different types of cells. After 6 weeks, the collagenous fibres of the graft were mostly replaced by newly formed collagenous texture, wher…

Model independent assertions for integration of heterogeneous schemas

1992

Due to the proliferation of database applications, the integration of existing databases into a distributed or federated system is one of the major challenges in responding to enterprises' information requirements. Some proposed integration techniques aim at providing database administrators (DBAs) with a view definition language they can use to build the desired integrated schema. These techniques leave to the DBA the responsibility of appropriately restructuring schema elements from existing local schemas and of solving inter-schema conflicts. This paper investigates the assertion-based approach, in which the DBA's action is limited to pointing out corresponding elements in the schemas an…

Minorities' communication apprehension and conflict : an investigation of Kurds in Iran and Malays in Singapore

2017

This research project investigates the relationship between communication apprehension and conflict in the intergroup context of minority and majority relationships. Previous studies of communication apprehension have extensively examined its characteristics in the intercultural context of mostly the USA and Eastern Asians cultures. However, the minority-majority intergroup relationship represents distinctive yet understudied characteristics related to socioeconomic status of the groups, which potentially influence their intergroup conflicts. Furthermore, previous communication research called for more in- depth investigation of the various regions. In the light of such considerations, the …

Minority groups and communication apprehension: An investigation of Kurdistan

2017

This study explores communication apprehension among the Iranian Kurdish minority group. Based on a sample of 157 self-administered surveys, the study investigates the relative communication apprehension (CA) score of Iranian Kurds and the influence of sex, age, and education on CA. Results revealed Kurds are relatively less apprehensive than many other cultures. It was also revealed that women have significantly higher levels of dyadic, public, and total CA. Moreover, all CA contexts (dyadic, groups, meeting, and public) and total CA tended to increase after grade 9 and decrease after completing high school. Age however, only had a modest effect on meeting CA. The findings propose higher l…

Phraseologieerwerb und Kinderliteratur. Verfahren der ›Verständlichmachung‹ von Phraseologismen im Kinder- und Jugendbuch am Beispiel von Otfried Pre…

2011

In this paper, it is claimed that authors adjust their use of phraseology in children’s books to the still limited phraseological competence of children. Authors may apply procedures such as phraseme accumulation, phraseme paraphrasing, or phraseme modification in order to enhance the comprehensibility of phrasemes for children. With increasing phraseological competence of adolescents, the use of phraseology in books for adolescents changes. Three hypotheses are set up: (H1) The phraseme types used in children’s books are semantically and pragmatically rather ›easy‹ compared to those in adolescent’s books; (H2) the number of phrasemes which are accompanied by procedures of enhancing compreh…

Kerberoitu NFSv4-protokolla Jyväskylän yliopiston Linux-työasemaympäristössä

2018

NFS-protocol is used to share data between Linux hosts. NFS-protocol has several security issues and it is problematic in modern open networks, which requires user authentication, data…
